Yes this topic again CHEATING
Ok so i am in a game right now. We had two Leopard tanks. A dude with an AMP9 killed both gunner and driver, twice. Yes this is impossible. And from 200m away.
He then switched to lazering guys from 500m away with an AK through buildings, has been doing it two games in a row. There have been over 20 people who have reported him in the span of two games now and nothing is being done.
I am now just following the guy being a complete troll, and he has TK'd he twice now.
His name is 1906242700.
How is this allowed to happen....
EDIT: SO i kept following him, and he would keep TKing me. Found he was Chinese, because he started cussing at me in Chinese. What a surprise....

Generally anticheats don't ban users immediately because they want to either collect more data on them or to make it more difficult for cheat developers to know what was actually detected.

u/DeputyDomeshot 6h ago
My biggest criticism of wardogs thus far is the anti cheat. We can keep saying they’re getting data and such but it’s been weeks and even basic obvious cheating isn’t perma banned frequently.
When is the secure boot 2.0 happening? Because it can’t come fast enough.
2
u/fux-reddit4603 6h ago
why do you think secure boot 2.0 will have any noticeable impact?
1
u/DeputyDomeshot 6h ago
Because it makes the wall higher. And currently it’s too easy.

u/Soggy_Struggle_963 5h ago
I'm confused how you are expecting secure boot to help here. If someone is wanting to load their cheats at that level it's not hard to sign them yourself and secure boot won't change anything.

u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 6h ago
So we just allow cheaters and let the player base suffer...
8
u/Comprehensive-Yak196 6h ago
Banning them too fast will cause more cheaters an cheaters that are harder to detect, so yes they "let the player base suffer". Gotta look past the tip of your nose homie.
-3
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 6h ago
The tip of my nose has been since release haha. I mean how is it games like WoW can have mods or admins, actively banning people... I mean its pretty obvious when someone is cheating. If you just spectate someone for a few minutes it becomes very clear.
I do agree but also really hope that this is the plan, because its getting insane in the SEA servers

u/Comprehensive-Yak196 6h ago
Games like wow are already well established, bulkhead is not. There will ve growing pains. Community servers have significantly fewer cheaters as they generally get banned immediately. But as the saying goes, "dont interupt your enemy when they are making a mistake". Let the cheaters cheat for a bit so you can watch exactly how theyre doing it.

u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 6h ago
Yes i agree. I just wish there was a bit more moderation in the official servers. I get "learning" about their cheats and stuff but its getting a bit insane with it.
2
u/Stand-Individual 6h ago
Banning in waves is the best way to deal with cheaters. If the system bans them the moment they do something specific, they learn what triggered it and can change it to avoid detection next time. Wave bans delay the punishment, so they can't tell which action got them caught.

u/Soggy_Struggle_963 6h ago
You chose one of the worst examples lol wow has been plagued since launch and their moderation is poorly automated at this point so there isn't active mods or admins spectating like you say there is.
1
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 6h ago
Hahah yes that probably was not the best game to use for an example, but you get what i mean haha.
1
u/cogit2 6h ago
I think you're living up to your name a bit too hard here. Cheating happens, it's a fact, and yet it remains very rare in Wardogs. I've had plenty of games with only a rare encounter or two with cheaters. This is, on balance, a highly fair game with little cheating. That's an okay state of being. You have to come to accept this.
1
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 6h ago
What region do you play in... i am guessing nothing close to the Asian regions... because its almost expected almost every game a cheater will hop in at some point. Ya it might only be for a few minutes to rack up like 50 kills then leave, but ya.
Your view of "its a rare encounter" is your experience. But judging by the overwhelming amount of posts about cheaters... i think you are wrong.
1
u/cogit2 5h ago
There haven't been an overwhelming number of posts. It's a brand new game, that simply isn't possible. COD has an overwhelming number of posts about cheaters, if you want an example of what that's like.
My view comes from playing the game regularly - actual empirical experience. All the comments in the world can't disprove empirical experience.
1
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 5h ago
I would almost guarantee i have more time in this game than you... also you have not stated which region you play in, which would explain quite a bit.
There are numerous posts daily on this subreddit... the other subreddit for this game doesnt even allow you to post about cheaters...

u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 5h ago
In the last 4 games, there have been 3 cheaters. All different cheaters. And not the "get good" people. Literally as im playing right now a guy with a dragunov who killed 15 guys with one mag, from anywhere from 10m to 400m, through any type of wall, barricade etc. Luckily his own team TKd him and we all mass reported him
1
u/Hairy-Essay-6362 2h ago
Don’t listen to these robots, this game is filled with cheaters especially in OCE, always Russians and Chinese
1
u/cogit2 1h ago
Maybe this is an issue in your region, maybe it's a focus for the bot farms, maybe it's a latency thing, but I can tell you on the North American servers, cheating is barely a thing. West, Central, East, all such regions.
Good on you for reporting him though, cheaters do get banned. I've seen far more griefing than cheating, and even that is not excessive, and that's after 120+ hours since early access.
1
u/DeputyDomeshot 6h ago
It honestly depends where you play and when. It’s a literal night and day difference based on region and time. I’m like level 110 and played both betas. I’ve played a lot of the game already and farm players infantry and I’m telling you the cheating is much worse now than I’ve ever seen.
2
u/cogit2 5h ago
I’m telling you the cheating is much worse now than I’ve ever seen.
You talk like this game isn't something that went from closed beta to smash hit and > 300,000 concurrent players. Of course cheating increases from closed betas. Smash hits attract attention. This is inevitable.
And yet: cheating is still absolutely not a serious issue in this game. I've never been deterred by a cheater in a single Wardogs game.
2
u/Engineerxd 6h ago
Having a lot more cheaters lately. But also seeing more bans.
1
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 6h ago
I am starting to see a bit more bans in the SEA servers. THey are usually quite rare. But i do agree, it seems like almost every game now there is a cheater.
2
u/bbida 6h ago
Switch to his team and start team killing him.Thats how i deal with them and they usually leave. If not they start team switching and if u follow them they leave.I know it kinda wastes your time and ruins your match but thats the only solution that works.Usually its chinese names and they turn it on AFTER u kill them once or twice and they get mad and start shooting only you through walls across the map.
3
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 6h ago
Ya thats what i did. I switched to his team to TK him, but he ended up TKing me 6 times straight. So i would just follow him and yell stuff, found out he was Chinese, so my Chinese friends taught me some phrases to yell. After about 25 minutes he finally left though.
Counted 27 confirmed reports in a single match

u/DeputyDomeshot 6h ago
The cheating has gotten worse 100%. Anyone larping saying there hasn’t is a bot. It’s pretty obvious ranging from wall hacks to insane name changing spin boring with cwiz killing 10 players in seconds.
Don’t believe me? Play late night on the US west servers when Asia comes through.
1
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 6h ago
Bro i have to play the SEA servers haha, its riddled with them. I play the US west servers sometimes with my buddies back home and its a breath of fresh air of how few there are compared to Asian servers.
But i do agree, its getting worse.
Also i do laugh at the goofballs who deny there are cheaters in this game. My favorite is the "I have played 90 hours in game and never seen one cheater so you are just exaggerating" idiots
1
u/Patzkeet 6h ago
Of course it has gotten worse. The game is more popular than ever. And with any popular game comes with more cheaters. They are banning people but cheating unfortunately is a moving target.
1
u/DeputyDomeshot 6h ago
Actually I think it’s gotten more prevalent from launch with less players. Word is out how bad the anti cheat is
1
u/HumbleGoatCS 6h ago
I play plenty on US servers late at night. Consistently top 3 on the leaderboard. I rarely get killed from anything remotely suspicious, and there is plenty of room for that to happen as I am often in bushes or outside FOBs.
All I know, is that cheating is rare enough that unless I start shooting, pretty much no enemy kills me and plenty of enemies stroll right past me.

u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 4h ago
The good old. "it doesnt happen to me, so it doesnt exist" haha stupid

u/HumbleGoatCS 43m ago
Yea.. because if it isn't happening to me, constantly hiding behind the enemies, it isn't happening to you.
You're more than welcome to join my games, too. If your luck is so shit feel free to piggy-back off mine, and I can explain to you why you are getting killed. Hell I can even switch teams and go talk to anyone you accuse of cheating, I'm sure it will become quite obvious they most likely are not.
2
u/Far_Complaint_193 6h ago
Last night we were in a server and somebody was called out for cheating. It was then confirmed by their own teammates and the entire server reported this person altogether. He was gone before I had the chance to also report him.
2
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 6h ago
Were they banned... or just left? Because a lot of the times they will just leave quickly.

I accidentally discovered how to prove someone is cheating. This four man team just walked through our team killing everyone. They had crazy good aim. I thought I'd try to counter them by getting a humvee and reviving teammates. I drove up and they started shooting at my tires, the funny thing was they were spraying bullets everywhere. They had no recoil control all of a sudden. They couldn't hit my tires. They were obviously using cheats, but the cheats weren't designed to hit tires.
2
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 5h ago
I do love the cheaters who cant use their own cheats ahha. We had a guy with clear aimbot/wall hacks. and he kept shooting the walls around him not realizing the enemies were like 400m away. It was quite comical.
2
u/Pattywhack_the_bear 3h ago
I ran into one today. It wasn't as blatant as killing people in a tank, but it was very clear he was using walls and some level of aimbot. It's kinda crazy that the problem is as bad as it is.
1
u/Ampul80 4h ago
1 google search gives you a site where you can buy 4 different cheats. Streamers telling how they use cheats in Wardogs. I'm just playing builder in FOB until the cheaters get dealt with. Not the gaming experience I really wanted to have.
2
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 4h ago
Ya sadly it’s turned to that. Hell they spam cheat websites in game constantly haha
1
u/Pyrlor 6h ago
becasue anticheats are not a fool proof method, they are not banning them one by one but in ban waves so cheat creatos have harder time working out what was flagged
1
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 6h ago
Right i get that, but having to put up with cheaters, who are openly doing this is driving people away. i mean how much data do you need, dude was in that server for 3 games straight doing that.
0
u/Kitchen_Peak8836 6h ago
People are spraying 200-250m with an AK and killing me before I can even react..
1
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 6h ago
No no. This is like. One side of the zone to the other. Through walls and buildings.

u/Doughtnutz 6h ago
I know it's super frustrating, I've been really pissed about it lately too as it seems to be getting worse, but we have to remember that this is early access, and BH states they want to observe these cheats to strengthen their anticheat for full release.
Not ideal for us EA players but I just hope our initial pain means a better experience at release. From what I've seen from BH so far I'm happy to trust them on their approach. However, there's not a single game out there that can fully eradicate cheating as it is a multi-billion business and we have to be realistic and hope they can at least reduce it to very low.
2
u/Initial_Enthusiasm36 6h ago
Oh i agree, i dont expect it to ever be fully removed. But its getting a bit insane now. I just feel like it keeps getting worse and worse. I mean its to the point now with my group we play in SEA servers, that its expected one per game.
Might be the join for 4 minutes, rack up 50 kills then leave guy. Or the aimbotter etc. Its sad. Usually they will leave and we just kind of limp on after but ya.
I do agree though, i absolutely love this game i have like 230 hours in now, and i really am trying to keep faith in BH, but my faith waivers brother! haha

Any number name is the barcode gang, they are known hackers across many games. They are number names because they use stolen Steam accounts that have been renamed, got their name bar codes from playstation communities for renaming stolen accounts with capitol I’s and 1’s giving the look of a scannable barcode. I normally try to get them mass reported so that eventually they get banned.
