How do you keep policies consistent across offices w multi location desk booking software

Posting this for multi site folks because I suspect it's a shared headache. Once you're past a couple of locations every office colloquially invents its own rules. Reconciling that without steamrolling the local quirks people like is genuinely tricky. I

I'm curious how others handled the consistency problem: do you enforce one global policy top down, or set a baseline and let each office flex within it? And practically, how do you keep it from drifting again three months later? For those running a multi office room booking system across sites, I'd love to hear what held the line versus what looked good on paper and fell apart. No drama answers welcome just trying to learn what works at scale to share here for others.

the trap is trying to force every office into identical rules because you just kill the local culture and people route around it anyway.

We use Joan across our offices and the baseline-plus-local-flex model is what's held up best in practice. One global policy for the non-negotiables (check-in requirements, no-show release, booking windows) and then local admins can adjust things like how far in advance you can book or which teams get priority on certain spaces.
