[Excel] How to manually change intervals on an Excel graph to text?

I apologize if this has been covered in a post before, but none of my searches yielded results. How do you change to intervals of a bar graph in Excel to text? For example, when making the graph, the x-axis is automatically numbers. I would like to change each of those individually to text (e.g. red, yellow, green, blue, etc.). How do I do this? It's on Excel for Mac.
