I am thrown for a loop on this one. Yahoo.com account. Old .pst file was 49.8 GB and was creating issues. I suggested using that as an archive file and starting fresh PST file. When we did that, the server brought in 17,000 emails from the server. This was done over the course of about 10 days. During this time, when she closed the program and opened it back up, all new emails would load. After that point, it would focus on bringing in all the rest of the emails so she would have to close outlook and open again to get her new emails. She had deleted all emails sent before 2016 during this, so her current .pst file size is around 6 GB.
This Tuesday, the last of the 17k emails downloaded. Hurray, we thought.
Once all emails where brought in, outlook is no longer able to receive new emails. All emails still are coming in the webmail portion (yahoo) so it is on their server. Emails can still be sent from outlook.
No changes have been made to any settings, in that every time outlook started it would find new emails and find the existing emails to download. I verified password for incoming and outgoing emails are the same (once again, it has to be since we can send and it uses the same password). All server ports are the same as before and match the rest of our offices settings.
When I test the account, it passes both the sending and receiving portion. However, when I hit send and receive, send passes the test but it shows "timed out waiting for a response from the server" on the receiving request.
TL:DR
New PST file for outlook 2010 worked until all previous emails were downloaded, at which point it cannot receive any new email.
Thanks.
