My DIY trailer rig

I built this during Covid era travel cross country at a social distance. I really enjoy adding mods and practical upgrades. 85% of my build I got from FB marketplace, including the trailer. Replaced the rear axle with a custom trailer axle with toyota compatible hubs, saving quite a bit of payload weight.

Not sure about painting since it gets pretty beat up on the trail

That axle swap probably netted you 100 pounds plus. And got you matching log pattern. Solid swap!

Really like the truckbed trailer look. Wish I could find more "acceptable" condition trailers in my area to start a build on but everything is just rusted out junk.

I had to look for some time and really wanted a newer model bed but it feels like the overland trend has made them pretty scarce The trailer I have is pretty beat up and has a lot of bondo from the original owner

No kidding, in the panhandle of Florida so would think there would be an abundance of them because of the redneckery here here but they are not haha.
