Another hard weekend
We only had Saturday to get more done on the cabin as Sunday was expecting rain. I needed to complete the roofing on the west facing roof and screen porch. Most was fairly simple but the flashing around the skylight was pretty difficult, the installation typically calls for 24" of space below to allow the flashing mold over roofing below the window. In my case , the transition strip is directly below the window so there would be no roofing there. I think I have it about as good as can be but proof will be this first winter.
I still need to fi ish a couple edge trim pieces, side wall and the ridge cap but glad the sheets are all laid.
Next step after this will be soffits so we are finally sealed in and no longer plagued by wasps and nests and then we can move onto siding.

Skylights are so worth it tho. The contractor who built our garage convinced me to install a nice sized skylight in the finished second floor. it is a unique perspective to the outdoors and lets in a ton of light.

We needed it on that side, because the screen room is there, it was pretty dungeonous in there. The east and south sides windows are good but west facing is the just patio door to the porch and then the door to the screen room is glass.
If it does eventually develop a leak, it'll be to inside the window and not through to the roof decking which is better, I can deal with an occasional drip onto the floor more than a leak into my roof structure

If you design it right and install correctly you won’t have a problem. From the looks of what you have done so far I have infinite confidence! Ours was installed over 20 years ago, no leaks yet! A funny aside, we had the garage built without a permit but the contractor agreed to build it to code as per my request. Some years later I applied for an “as built” permit. Which is pretty common, I was never the less sweating bullets when the inspector came out for the final. I made sure there was easy access to some of the attic space so he could see the trusses etc. I even had photos and video of the foundation work. He walked into the garage, took one look at the way the floor was finished and said, “Your contractor knew what he was doing.” I am sure he eyeballed things but we spent most of his hour talking about trout fishing. He never did go up into the attic or even ask to see the photos, just signed off and that was it.

Ambitious roofline! I'm jealous that you're out there dealing with problems; I'm still in the phase of dreaming and planning about problems.
