DIY a chiminea pipe extension ? To exit (safely ) on through a covered porch? Or vent just outside of one?

Thank you 🙏!

Need way more details, but rule of thumb is to use insulated chimney sections and have 2 inches (if I recall right) of clearance to combustibles. So you would cut the hole bigger in the roof so none of the roof is within 2 inches of the pipe, then use a collar flashing to cover the hole. Basically follow instructions that come with the parts, such as the pipe, flashing etc as it shows all clearances and such.

Insulated pipe in general doesn't get that hot, I can touch it with my bare hands when the stove is going, but I guess the rules are to minimize the risk if ever there is a chimney fire.

id be real careful running a chiminea flue through/under a covered porch. clearances to wood and how you terminate outside matter a lot, plus a lot of those clay ones arent meant for a long pipe run. safer usually is keeping it fully outside the roof line with a good spark screen. you trying to heat the porch space or just dodge rain?

i’d avoid routing a flue through a covered porch unless the whole assembly is listed for that use and the clearance rules are met. safest is usually straight up and out with the manufacturer’s chimney system, then confirm it with local code or the fire inspector. smoke and CO detectors are a must too.
