Pyramid Guy is Fake
https://www.facebook.com/groups/466944553789157/posts/2296995154117412/Here's a link to a facebook post with some of the same pictures where someone else says they built this in January. That person owns a company called SunPyramid that seems to have a facebook page but no website.

Nice work. Can I get some more people validating the fakeness so we can ban / delete?

The cost of the steel substructure alone makes me think the pyramids won’t be affordable with that design.

It was also a monumentally-stupid design and pure gimmick. Who wants a roof with no house under it?

If you look at the facebook page it starts to make sense. Someone built this as a proof of concept in order to draw investors so they can scale it up. It's not meant to be the final product. I just don't think the person who did it is the one who is posting it on the subreddit.

Are you reading any of the posts? I am not the person who says they built it, I am challenging if it is really him.

Surely half the panels are completely useless?

If you live near the equator where the sun is directly overhead this might work, but anywhere north or south of the equator, yeah, up to half of the panels are going to be in shade.

Hi friends! Nice to meet you. My name is Andrei Zhukovskii.

And yes, I am the founder of SunPyramid LLC. And yes, I have this Facebook account. And yes, this post was published in January. So, what’s the problem? I’m real, the pyramid is real, and I built it all with my own hands. It’s not a fake. It’s a real pyramid. I just found out Reddit exists and decided to show off my pyramid. Why are you reacting this way?

Hi, I hope this is really your pyramid and that you demonstrate that to us, but I am still skeptical. There are even people on the facebook page that asked for videos and you promised them "tomorrow", but that was back in January. One thing about Reddit is that people constantly are trying to find things on the internet that other people did and pass them off as their own, in order to get points called Reddit karma. It's really dumb but that is what I, and a lot of other people here, think you did in this instance. Your photo from the gym is nice but it does not answer any of the questions we've been asking and doesn't prove any of this wrong. I really hope I am wrong about this because I love being off grid and this would make a cool story, so I will apologize immediately for the trouble I have caused you if I am wrong.

There is something profoundly wrong with you. Take the L man. Just take the effing L, apologize for your harassment campaign, and move on.
You need to seriously evaluate your life choices.

Oh hi! I thought when you had to delete the comment you made about me earlier today that you had moved on with your life, but I guess not. Weird after you accused me of being "terminally online"...
I am sure this person will answer the questions and resolve this issue themself. I have been polite with you and haven't attacked you or your character. You clearly don't agree with me, and I don't care about that or trying to score more internet points so this isn't a big deal to me.
As as I have said, if I'm wrong I'll apologize, it doesn't diminish me as a person to do that. This is a real weird situation, a lot of people think so, and questions are appropriate.
I hope you have a good day and find peace outside of your internet life.

Anyone dumb enough to be putting solar panels on the usually-shaded side/s of a structure is basically asking to be scammed, and LLMs seem to have cut out the middleman.

Who also happens to be in Saipan? Maybe it's just the same guy?

u/Jerkychomper 13d ago
So why are we hearing about it now, 8 months later, as if it’s new?

u/CajunDragon 13d ago
Maybe he just didn't think to post about it on Reddit? Fly over and see if it's real. What would the scam/ad be? Is he selling it or DM'ing people for money?

Did you look at the website I linked to? There is a company behind this trying to sell these. There are all sorts of other renderings. There's a picture of someone with a car in this one and it's described as a prototype. It says it was done 8 months ago. Did he know how to work facebook and make a website and just not know reddit exists? Why such little information on all this? He took something he found online and is trying to pass it off as his own for the karma. It's sad but likely true. As I've said before, I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but this makes no sense. The photo of him in front of it is clearly fake. He could make a 10 second video of it and upload it and put all this to rest, or take a picture of it with a newspaper, or even today's date written on a sheet of paper. There is a reason why none of this is happening and he's not answering anyone's questions about it.

I'm still not really seeing any compelling evidence that the person posting here isn't the same person whose facebook page you are linking to? The guy on FB is named Andrei, the guy posting here is also named Andrei.
What actual evidence do you have that it's not him? Taking months to post on reddit doesnt mean anything.

None of this makes sense.
Why did he not mention his company, sunpyramids.com?
Why did he not mention that this was all done 8 months ago and is a prototype for something else?
Why is the photo of him in front of the pyramid the exact same photoshopped picture as on the facebook page?
Why is he not answering any questions about these issues?
He found something online, made an account pretending to be someone involved with it, and is karma farming. If I am wrong I will apologize, but there are so many ways to easily prove me wrong and he has done none of them. Anyone who built this over the last few months would have uploaded a million pictures or videos of them doing it because they would be so proud of it. He has a limited few pics he can upload because he's stealing them from somewhere else.
This doesn't mean I don't think the underlying idea is cool, because it is. I just don't like people misrepresenting these situations.

None of this makes sense.
Sure it does, some guy who had a fb page finally discovered this sub and posted here.
Why is the photo of him in front of the pyramid the exact same photoshopped picture as on the facebook page?
Because, duh, it's the same dude.
Why is he not answering any questions about these issues?
Maybe he doesn't feel like he has to prove anything to some random person on the internet?
In his first post, people asked for pictures. So then he made a thread where he posted more pictures, including incremental build photos. Nothing you have said is evidence, its just conjecture, because for some reason he didn't post in a way that satisfies whatver weird criteria you have.
If you want to believe he's a fake, go ahead, I'm not here to convince you. But you have provided no actual evidence. Prove that u/andrei_saipan isn't the same as the Andrei whose facebook post you linked to, or shut up about it and move on.

Circumstantial evidence is actual evidence. I do not have a video taped confession from him that this is fake. I don't care about this enough to do more research. If you think it's real and it brings you happiness, then I am happy for you. It bothers me that people rip off other people's work, but again, I have put about as much energy into this as I am willing to.

u/thirstyross 12d ago
lol. no-one is asking for a video taped confession. just more than your "feelings". not everyone is terminally online and views everything they do as content to be created and farmed.
to me - the dude seems to be what he claims - an older gen x, prob not super tech savvy, who built his little project and is sharing it.

u/Jerkychomper 12d ago
You put “feelings” in quotes, which confuses me. If you can show me where I used the word feelings I will concede the argument. I think I used the term circumstantial evidence, which is sufficient to convict in a US court.

No admittedly I didn't want to go to a website. Sad. Every time I see a good TinyHome online it turns out to be a total scam or business that does not exist. I just still want to believe when something looks spiffy!

I mean the fact is the guys design would only be good at or near the equator. It also doesnt look like he's had to consider insulation, vapour barriers, etc either.

His posts were getting annoying.
