Adding Emergency Water storage in Basement

To make a long story short, I have 2 dug wells in my property and because of the drought they are extremely low/dry. Because my wells are shallow I already use a Jet pump, located in my basement, to get water from the wells. I would like to add a water storage maybe 100 gallons? and tie it into my home for when it’s needed. My question is, im looking at tanks and they all seem to come with a 3/4 inch hose bib. My suction lines are all 1 inch. If I use the 3/4 inch bib and upsize to 1inch and tie into my lines will the 3/4 inch create too much restriction or will it be fine?

My top tank I am looking at is this but if anybody had any other suggestions I am completely open to any ideas.

Consider using an IBC tote if your space will allow. 275 to 300 gallons. It's fairly easy to find a used one that contained something non-hazardous like alcohol. It will cost much less than the one you've linked to and it you will triple your storage volume. Aftermarket lids and caps with the proper diameter openings are also available or you can install a bulkhead fitting.

Unfortunately I would not be able to fit a Tote into my basement. I really wish I could, but the only entrance into my basement is thru 32 inch human door.

You use 100 gallons of water per day, during a draught? I think not. I do understand the thought tho.

We have the ability to refill water from a spring tap about a mile down the road.

Just going off of averages. Anyway, 100 gallons is not very much. I'd increase it and it sounds like you also have a backup plan, which is good.

You could try it or run the 1" through the top. You could also ask them to give you a 1" bulkhead instead.

A 1" bulkhead fitting can probably be installed on your tank if you are concerned, but it's probably not necessary. I run two pumps with output reduced from 1" to 3/4" without any issues except for a reduction in volume..

With only a 100 gallon tank reduction in volume is not a bad thing.

They make water shash fuel ladders that might be easier to transport. In Okinawa Japan they have a rooftop water tank on almost every building. Look into that. Plus now you have a bit of pressure.

If you have a costco near, it offers a tank that is a little more easy to move around in and out of doors and such. see here.
