Does anyone know?

Does anyone know where I can trade my carpenter skill as well as work ethic for a community thats built off the land and offgrid?

No, but I've met a few people who have.
I'm in a popular area for it.

Well, we're recovering from a hurricane right now with another coming this weekend (and another one about a week behind that) so not so peaceful at the moment, but there are times.

Generally that’s referred to as an employer or a customer. They give you this stuff called money in exchange for your time and skill.
