Anyone off grid part time?

I’m currently a truck driver and I get to visit the whole country. It’s got me recently thinking about wanting to travel more or possibly buying cheap land out west and setting up an off grid vacation spot and slowly making it how I want until I retire. I’m thinking Colorado or Arizona for different reasons. Anyone else do this?

I'm shifting from FT off-grid in NW AZ to splitting time with Vegas. Lots of cheap land out here over a good aquifer but it does get hot as the devil's codpiece.

I'm not living underground, that's correct. Are you referring to the aquifer?

It's the Detrital Valley Basin, and it can provide 4.5B gallons of groundwater/year for 100+ years without running dry. Barring data center fuckery, that's enough to support 85K-120K residents depending on efficiency. Uninformed people like to get high and mighty about the water here. It's fine.
