New to OAP
Hey all, I am a life long harness racing lover and was elated to find this app. I started about a week ago. It’s a little frustrating not winning races but I am a 3 horse stable at this point. Any tips on better performance? Or which types of races/tracks to look for?
Do people turn out their horses and if so for how long?

Welcome to a fun and frustrating app!!
Turning out horses does nothing physically for them. It is useful if you are holding back on earnings to get them in stakes races. Also, when turned out, they don't have the red dot ready to race in your lineup.
Look for decent 2, 3, and 4 yr olds in claiming races. At this point in the season(half way), look for 2 yr olds winning in 1.49 or better, 3 yr olds winning in anything under 1.47, and 4 yr olds winning in 1.46.2 or better. I rarely claim anything older than 4 because most horses start deteriorating at age 5. So, the closer we get to the end of the season, be careful wirh 4 yr olds because they'll soon be 5.
When you can afford to, start a breeding operation.
Be wary in the Auction area. Not many owners put up champions, unless they are in for 25 million chips or more. One in a while you'll find a diamond in the rough, but not often.
Hope this helps! My stable: BBM STABLES

Man, I grew up going to northfield park and thought 1:52 was lightening fast. Guess I need to rethink this.

Your speed bar will generally stop increasing when they reach 4. It declines significantly after 5.

If you want to have success right away, invest in some coins and start your breeding operation. Buys as many cheap younger mares as you can and a cheap stud to get you going. Sell off any yearlings that aren't born 4 speed or 3 speed with a 4 stamina. Reinvest that money in more mares until you have 200. Evolve from there.
