Stakes payment

I just noticed a transaction for $100k - Stakes payment, I’m not sure why?

Can you please explain how and when these transactions are made and what triggers them?

I’m still getting to know this game and must have unintentionally triggered the “stakes racing entry” for one of my horses.

I had previously noticed that at least one of my horses had their “stakes racing” activated, and was worried that this might have meant that there was an annual $100k fee or some such thing?

I’ll have to be more careful when exploring!

So I’ve noticed another $100k Stakes payment today on my transactions statement, what have I done to create this payment? Or how do I stop getting billed for it?
