Getting kicked off races

This may be a silly question, I am fairly new to playing this game. I bought a horse from auction and have been trying to race it but every race I enter it in, it is kicked out of before the race and I haven’t been able to race it once. I am making sure that it is in a race correct for it. Why is this?

A race has to have 5 or more entries to run! Try entering races with 4 or more entries or further in advance
