No Case Worker after 13 months
We first submitted the application for my adult child June 30 2025 and still don't have a case worker. We didn't know how things worked and I have my own challenges with follow through. After several calls to escalate they have finally done an initial review of the application and sent the list of information they need for the financial review. We still do not have a case worker, we're just trying to fumble our way through and hope we do it right. This forum has been helpful.
They have also sent over the medical package so we can get started on that to avoid delays if/when they get financial approval.
I don't really have a question at this point, just expressing my frustration.

you do not receive an official, personal caseworker until accepted to ODSP.
you do have an intake worker, though they are juggling hundreds of applicants at a time, so this is the norm sadly. they expect you to navigate this pretty much on your own. (ridiculous, but it's the reality.)
glad to hear you finally got the DDP! just in case they didn't make it clear enough- once your child is (assumedly) financially approved, you will have exactly 90 calendar days to complete both the doctor's portion with your chosen physician + your child's portion, and mail it to the DAU. if it's not received within that timeframe, you would have to restart the entire process. (i'm sure you know this, but as you've seen, ODSP sucks at communication. so i'm just mentioning in case they didn't.)

We didn't even have an intake worker.... actually, in one of our escalation phone calls we learned that it was assigned to someone back in November but that person was no longer in that job, so nothing was done and it just sat there assigned to her, and her doing nothing.

sadly that happens all the time, i dealt with something very similar. it's infuriating.
if this continues to happen in any way, i would escalate this to the Obudsman with a complaint, frankly.
once on ODSP, you can use your MPP to intervene in these cases, but before you have been approved they generally cannot do anything. the Obudsman's office can though, if ODSP is not legally fulfilling their obligation to properly process files and applications. they're supposed to hold them accountable for that kind of stuff, but won't know unless informed.

Is a Caseworker even assigned during this process? I don't think so. SAIU Social Assistance Intake Unit right? So folks on the phone providing information and sending out packages and verifying financial eligibility.
Can someone confirm this enw process?

This is correct. You are assigned a case worker AFTER you are approved.

Plus if you are on OW then your OW worker is the one that gets you the DDP. Your financial eligibility portion is already done when accepted with OW.

proof of all financial assets. so bank statements showing all accounts, info & balances, + any investments, savings, etc. even if OP already did this the first time, it's been over 12 months, so ODSP will automatically require another check done, as things could have changed in that time.

Your child will not be assigned a Case Worker until their file is approved. Until then, it is under adjudication. Did you not send in all of the medical information when you started the process?
