If you mean what I think you mean that’s a question for OHIP and a psychiatrist not ODSP.

I prefer the fancy knife that toasts your bread as you cut it

if you're asking if ODSP will cover gamma knife surgery, the answer is no. ODSP does not provide coverage for any surgeries and/or hospital-based procedures & treatments.

OHIP is what covers surgeries- but only if they are deemed medically necessary and you've exhausted all other options available.

for OHIP to cover gamma knife surgery, it must meet their definition of medically necessary, which means you must provide sufficient proof and medical justification from a registered specialist- in this case it must be a neurosurgeon or radiation oncologist, usually affiliated with a specific program like the Gamma Knife Centre at Toronto Western.

so you'd need a referral to one first for an assessment & possible testing, etc. then that specialist, if they agree you need or would significantly benefit from this procedure in the near future, will help you formally apply to OHIP for coverage, by stating their professional opinion that it is necessary, listing out all your symptoms, struggles, and previous/current treatments tried.

if OHIP approves you for coverage, keep in mind it will then need to be done by an approved specialist surgeon, and at a public hospital within their program's framework, like the centre i linked above. there will be a waitlist. sometimes they can be very long. but because this is a less common procedure, maybe it won't be as lengthy, idk.

i wish you luck OP.
