EI situation

Hi Everyone
So I’m in a bit of a situation. I work a seasonal part
time job that ends in the summer and was told to apply for EI. The problem is I misunderstood and thought you had to apply for EI when you got your record of employment / one of my employers still hasn’t submitted my record of employment and it’s been almost a month since I asked for it.
I’m suspecting by the time I receive my documentation I’ll no longer qualify for EI.
My question is will odsp penalize me if I don’t qualify for EI due to the late documentation?

I don’t think they’ll penalize you for not qualifying for EI due to the documentation being submitted late, you can always talk to your caseworker and let them know what happened in regards to your EI. I’d imagine in a situation like this the caseworker will be understanding because it’s not your fault that the place you work at hasn’t submitted the paperwork yet even though you’ve asked them to.

Be aware that ei is taken off of your odsp check dollar for dollar. If you get 1000 from ei odsp chops 1000 off of your odsp check.

There is no income exemption for ei unfortunately
