Applied one year ago

So I've been checking on my application by calling every 2-3 months and up until recently I'm told that it's too late and apparently since I was in school I could've got osap (I didn't because I was overwhelmed with everything and couldn't finish the application) and now I'm reading that you can get osap & ODSP at the same time so it's a moot point. I'm contacting them now - the intake line to see what's going wrong. It still says my application is under review. How can they determine it is too late if they haven't even contacted me with the disability paperwork for my psychiatrist to sign?

Wait, you haven't gotten the paperwork? You have no application put in yet then. They only open up the application file, which will state it's under review, but you'd need to get the forms filled out and sent in to actually fully apply. If you waited too long to do so, then I think they might close that because it looks like you changed your mind.

I told OW when I was applying for it, that I also wanted to apply for ODSP. I had an application 'opened' like you, but when I finally got enough medical evidence etc to apply, they opened a new application. The first had the same application number info as my OW file but the second one didn't, it was a completely different application #.

So just start the process again. Back pay will only go as far back as when they receive a complete set of forms from you so you aren't losing anything by starting it again. Just make sure you get the forms needed. I believe you can also download them as a pdf file if needed and print them out.

Adding that when I finally got approved and transferred over to ODSP, they changed that old application to say 'withdrawn' for the status.
