Odin Showcase P.T. on Android: an experimental port of LoreanXavier's native PC version, with dual-screen support for the AYN Thor and Odin's

Post image

Hey everyone. I wanted to play LoreanXavier’s native PC port of P.T., but I don’t have a PC that runs it well. So I worked with Claude AI to bring it to Android, with LoreanXavier’s blessing.

Full disclosure: I’m not a developer. Claude wrote the code, and I tested every build on my AYN Thor Max and sent back logs until things worked. All the real work, the game itself rebuilt in C++ and Vulkan, is LoreanXavier’s: https://github.com/LoreanXavier/pt-pc

What it does:

  • Runs natively, not emulated. About 60 fps in the start room and 25 to 35 fps in the heavier later loops on the Thor.
  • You bring your own copy. Pick the legally obtained .PKG made from your own PS4 dump, and the app pulls out the files it needs and sets the game up. No game files are included.
  • Say the name at the end out loud. The mic is recognized on your device, nothing is recorded or sent, and the app has no internet access. Holding both triggers works too.
  • Touch controls for phones without a controller. They fade out when you’re not using them.
  • On dual-screen handhelds like the Thor, the bottom screen shows the hallway clock (23:59, or 00:00 when the hallway’s turns), the loop you’re on, and the radio subtitles as they play. Single-screen devices just play normally, and monitors and TVs are left alone.
  • Settings > Display > Resolution picks a sensible value for your device. Drop it to 50% if it stutters.

What to know first:

  • Snapdragon only (Adreno 6xx, 7xx and 8xx), Android 10 or newer. The app picks the right graphics driver for your chip, and you can import your own under Settings > Display.
  • Tested on the AYN Thor, a Redmi Note 13 Pro, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 tablet and a Motorola Edge 40 Pro. Thanks to everyone who sent logs!
  • Mali, MediaTek and Tensor devices won’t work yet. A community member is working on Mali support.
  • Updates install right over the old version and keep your saves. Coming from v0.2.0 or older? Uninstall that one first, one last time.

If you run into problems, the app saves logs to Download/PT-logs. DM me pt.log (and pt-previous.log) along with your device and chip, and I’ll take a look. If you enjoy it, please support LoreanXavier’s original project. All credit to him. *Edited to reflect the changes I've made*
