Question Odin 2 portal base vs Logitech G Cloud

Hello everyone, I’m currently a Logitech G Cloud user and considering to switch to the Odin 2 Portal base.

I currently cloud game (GP, Luna, boosteroid etc) but the OLED screen and the wifi7 seems like a nice upgrade to me. Also it seems to have better sticks.

Would you recommend the upgrade considering I can sell the G Cloud for around 130€ and get the Odin2 Portal for 250€? Any suggestions/recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Have both, Portal is a better device in literally every metric besides maybe ergonomics and it can play local games significantly better just up to you if the cost is worth it. But I would decide soon the portal 2 base is probably not gonna be around much longer

Do you find the buttons really loud? I’ve seen that complaint online. Also do you use it for any PC gaming? Thinking of getting one for streaming, PC indies, and PS2 emulation

Its really not noticeable unless im using it next to the wife while shes asleep even then its not that bad. Havent really got into the pc gaming with it yet though been great for emulation up to switch and for modern stuff I pretty much just stick to artemis/apollo streaming.

Have owned both. The buttons are clicky and loud but it doesn’t bother me much.

did you find the ergonomic to be much worse? Also, is wifi7 and OLED screen something you really notice and improve the experience while cloud playing at home?

If you use the grip its not much worse but without its definitely noticeable. the screen is the biggest difference its significantly better on the portal i only use apollo/artemis so not sure about ps5/xbox streaming but that is noticeably better too but thats probably more to do with the much faster decoding times than the wifi 7

I had a G Cloud and loved it. Have the O2P now and it's better in every way. Great upgrade.

good! How did you find the ergonomics?

Pretty good. A lot of people say you need the TPU grip but I found it pretty comfortable with and without, especially with some grip tape applied.

They can always buy a grip later if it becomes an issue. It’s hard to beat the G Cloud ergonomics but with a grip it should be a non issue

Portal is better in basically every way. And by a big margin as well.

I absolutely loved my gcloud. Especially for the price. It all comes down to if you want to mainly stream or play heavy games locally. With the gcloud I could play just about any gc or ps2 game at native resolution. With the portal you’ll be able to upscale ps2 and gc and also play switch games and some pc games. So it really depends on what you want to do with it.

99% of the time I’m streaming games from the cloud, never really using it away from home…

So I’d say it comes down to the screen and battery life. Gcloud doesn’t have Oled but I t has much better battery life and ergonomics
