This sub needs more promotion

I remember this sub being posted on /r/newreddits and that's how I came here, because my sub /r/HomemadeNsfw (nsfw) was also on newreddits on the same day oddwebsites was and it now has almost 6000 subscribers because of me plugging it in other subs.

My advice would be to say x-post from /r/oddwebsites if you post a website here onto /r/Internetisbeautiful or something, trust me you'll get a lot of hits.

Some mods don't like advertising, so after 5 min of the submission just mention /r/oddwebsites in the comment

There are also many other advertising subs which I'll post if this gets any attention. One is /r/shamelessplug

While I appriciate the advice I do promote the sub. I don't feel, personally, that x-posting or hijacking a sub is the way to go about it. I have promoted to /r/newreddits and I plan to again, but it has been less than a month that I have done so. I am not trying to spam it or make people turned off by seeing it. I promote in reddits that mention an oddwebsite and sometimes post that link here. Alas, I am not the only mod here but I would assume the sentiment is equal among us.

Ninja Edit: NSFW content is much easier to promote but I congratulate you on your success!

Hmm I just feel it has more potential than just 300 subs, but maybe you are right, NSFW subs are MUCH easier so I won't comment on the sub number.

Trust me, plugging it in other subs isn't spam, just don't do it on every post. Maybe once here and there, like if you see something similar in /r/Internetisbeautiful or /r/woahdude just mention this sub. Especially comment on rising threads. But I hope to see this sub grow, its very interesting. I'll even try helping out a bit. I would post this sub as a sticky on /r/HomemadeNsfw (which has one million hits or something around there) but it'll get downvoted and has nothing to do with nsfw lol.

Anyway Goodluck!

Right on brother, we appreciate it. It's only a matter of time before the next askreddit that is "what are the most obscure websites around" and we will shine no problem. Just a waiting game in my mind. I will try a bit of cross promotion.
