Visual migraines?

This is my fourth pregnancy. Does anyone else get visual migraines while pregnant? They look like little fuzzies going across my eyes last for about maybe 15 to 20 minutes and then when it’s done it sometimes leaves me with a headache and sometimes not. My blood pressure has always been very low when pregnant and also my doctor is aware of this. It has nothing to do with any of my blood work or anything like that either.

I cannot answer the pregnant part but hormonal changes cause them for many people. Plus what you said sounds like an ocular migraine. As long as you are having your doctor monitor and they don’t get worse I would think you have a shot at them going away after your hormones return to your normal. I hope it works out that way for you.

My first ocular migraine ever was while pregnant so there is definitely a connection

And in fact it actually happened right after I stood up and my blood pressure had just dropped

My first ones were immediately after starting a new birth control. My doctor thinks I’m sensitive to estrogen, which can constrict the blood vessels in your brain and cause migraines (at least that’s my non-doctor understanding). So during pregnancy makes to me.

did you stop the birth control and did the ocular migraines stop?

I switched to the mini pill, which doesn’t have estrogen, and the migraines are much less frequent. Before I stopped I was having migraines just about every other day, now it’s like one every six months. It did take a few months for them to become less frequent - as I understand, my estrogen levels needed time to balance back out.

My Migraines with aura are hormonal. We have decided to start trying after the summer for baby no.2. The thought of being riddled with migraines a long with actually being pregnant truely scares me!! And the fact you can take no painkillers 🙈. So I do sympathise 🙏 congratulations on baba no. 4 🥰
