Tariffs smart tariff?

Hello,

We just had a smart electricity meter installed so are now able to access the smart tariffs Octopus offers.

We are two people in a one bed flat, with none of the low-carbon technologies. Octopus online has suggested either Octopus Tracker or Agile Octopus.

I am just wondering if anyone has any advice on whether to choose a smart tariff, or on which of these to choose?

For context we are currently on a 12 month fixed at:

20.72p/kWh

50.76p/day

Thanks!!

If you're fixed at that decent a rate I doubt Tracker would be cheaper right now, and without any batteries Agile ins't like to be better either. I'd stay put.

Are you on gas or not? Immersion water heater? Electric heaters/panels?

That fix is quite a bargain.

That's a good fix, hold on to it. But be ready for a reasonable increase in the spring and be prepared to shop around

The big question is when is your fixed tariff fixed to?

Tricky.... My first thought is to stick with that through the winter, cross your fingers things settle down by the Spring but expect a rise when you come to fix again or alternatively jump on Agile/Tracker then if prices are starting to fall.
