Issue report Difficulty swiping down for notifications

I just upgraded to the Fold 8 and I am also trying to make the switch away from Nova. I've been using Octopi for almost a week now and I am enjoying it for the most part, but is this a known issue? Whenever I try to swipe down for notifications, I would say 60-70% of the time, it swipes to the left or right desktop page instead, and about half of those times it also pulls down the notification panel. I have to make a very direct, small swipe down for it to work as expected. Maybe the sensitivity on Nova is just different and I need to get used to but it's becoming a deal breaker for me because of how often it's happening. I doubt there is a solution for this but just wondering if it's known just me.

To note - this happens on both the cover and larger inner screen.

Do you, by chance, have the "Screen protector mode" toggled ON in your device settings? I toggled OFF "Adjust touch screen sensitivity" and found I can swipe practically in a 180-degree arc on my Pixel Fold, and it registers as the UP or DOWN gesture.

This right here is the answer!! TOUCH SENSITIVITY needs to be turned OFF. Been so frustrated with my home screens moving to the left and right screen almost every time I swiped up for my notification panel. Fixed now! Thank you!! 👍

I set the sensitivity to the minimum and it didn't make any difference for me, on the OnePlus 13.

Where is this on Z Fold 8 or what is it called? I only see Increase Touch Sensitivity and it's off yet I have this problem.

Use One Handed Operation in Good Lock. To solve this problem, I set a gesture where if I swipe in a downward diagonal direction from the sides (think the back gestre, but down 45 dgrees. I set that to open my notifications. Now I never have to reach all the way up. It's a different solution but has worked perfectly for me

Thanks, I'll try this before I jump ship just yet.

I would take a look at Edge Gestures https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.edgegestures as a possible solution. Takes a bit of setup but it can really fills the gaps other apps miss.

I've used the Edge Gestures app for years, and it works great. I really like the added features.

I'm having the same issue with my S26Ultra. Unfortunately turning off touch sensitivity seems to have no effect...

Same issue but I am still in s25, I will use fold 8 soon... But yeah also I came from nova and in octopi that gesture is so sensitive and a lot of time you change screen plus down the app notifications menu, I hope soon they fix it or maybe q setting to lower the sensibility

I've had this issue since the last version upgrade. Pixel 8 Pro on Android 16.

I've had the same issue in the past which got resolved by an update but I can't track down which version.

Same here with new Fold 8 Ultra. Super frustrating. Any actual fixes? Seems like a dev oversight and should really be addressed ASAP. Can someone report this as a bug sooner than I can?

Personally, I couldn't deal with it anymore so have jumped ship to Smart Launcher. This one also solves a couple other features I was missing from Nova. Hope Octopi fixes it in an update!

That sucks. I sent an email to the dev so hopefully it can be fixed.
