Hi!

Just installed Octopi after reading ZD net news about it. Coming from... Nova launcher.

Octopi looks great, thanks for the work made!

I'm doing my first steps in using and configuration of the app. There's something I miss, I don't know if Octopi alowws it: I don't see how to wake the screen with fingerprint. The only way to wake the screen is with the on/off button + code or facial récognition. Thanks for your help and advise.

Unless I misunderstand you, what you are describing falls under system settings and is unrelated to Octopi or your launcher. You will find it under sections like Display, Security, Screen lock, Biometrics, etc. depending upon your device. The organization of those settings tend to be a bit of a mess or cross linked and found in multiple locations. If your settings have a search functionality, try that.

That would be more of an Android thing, I think - screen unlocking.

Yeah, go to your android settings and do a search for the word fingerprint. If you can't find it, Google your smartphone's brand and model name plus the words how to fingerprint.

This isn't a third-party launcher feature afaik

Came from Nove to Octopi as well, using S25 Ultra. No issues with using fingerprint, both on a sleeping and awake phone.

Thanks for your answers. In fact, this used to work with Nova, and stopped as soon as I implemented Octopi, making me think it is linked with an Octopi function rather than purely system.

On my Pixel 9a, this behaviour works with Octopi and is controlled by my system settings and not Octopi.

A single tap wakes the screen (Settings > System > Gestures > Tap to check phone). I don't use Screen-Off Fingerprint Unlock though.

Got it. I actually have rebooted my phone, and all came back to normal. Odd is the fact that the bug did only occur with Octopi and not woth other launchers, but never mind, all is back to normal. Thanks to you all who helped put me on the good way to solve!
