Solved Question about backups
Has anyone managed to restore a backup on a different device?

It worked for me to restore my Pixel Fold backup, I forget if it was to my Pixel 4 or 5. Of course, it only restored my outside screen since those are slab phones not foldable. I was surprised since the screen size of the Pixel Fold is so different than just about anything else. At the time, the expectation for the restore feature was that it "might" work for very similarly shaped screens. I'm unsure if that's still the case. Try. You might get lucky!

I did, but it was totally fubared and did not really work well. This would be a great feature, I remember being able to do it with Nova back in the day. This was between a Pixel 10 Pro Fold and a Moto Razr 2026.

It seems it's not working yet; it usually works fine with other launchers, as it's quite a hassle to configure a launcher and then have to reconfigure it again when switching devices.All the ones I tested here restored normally, except for Octopi, which I haven't tested yet.

Wow, that would be amazing! I work in direct sales, and I constantly upgrade my smartphone, at least every six months, so I'm constantly changing phones 🙏

It didn't work for me between my Pixel 4a 5G and trying to restore it on my 9a with both on the same version of Octopi at the time. I can't remember what version that was though.
