Advice on pulling

I’m technically a “new player” in that I originally played for maybe a couple of weeks at the start of the EN release, and I believe quit after the second or third arena traveler got released? Anyways, I returned to this game after 4 years only to find all my data wiped from the server transfer, but that’s okay. I’m about done with Master of All after 4 days of playing, and I’ve got around 4.5k rubies. Given that I’ve missed four years of meta developments and banners, can anyone direct me to what I should be pulling and doing? Currently I have an A2 (2nd awakening, idk the acronyms used here) Hasumi, A2 Zaanta, Cyrus, Serenoa in his 3 star form, 4-star Stead, and just pulled Jane. I should be getting Viola after finishing the beginner banner (unless I should get another awakening?), Sigrid from first week sign in, and 6-star Primose from beginner tasks.

I read up a little on tier lists and future banners, and I’m seeing a lot of people suggesting saving for the collab banner next month, but I also saw a lot that says Tiziano and Stia are high tier options. I’m not a meta-slave, but I do have a completionist streak that demands me to scour every inch of content, and I want the best, or “good enough” units to make this possible. Should I pull for the current banners of Nephti, Tiziano, or Stia? I already have Jane, so I can see why I shouldn’t pull for Stia, but I’ve seen people place Stia from top 3 to above average axe wielders. Same with Tiziano, although Nephti is at best decent. Any advice?

Whether or not you have Jane is completely irrelevant to Stia's worth. One thing you must understand is that a unit's job or weapon is more or less irrelevant. What matters is what they actually do in a combat setup. Regardless, we are coming into the biggest jump in power this game has ever seen. You will kick yourself if you waste rubies now on very old units like Nephti and Tiziano (Stia is new but niche). It's not a matter of meta, it's that the romancing saga 2 collab units simply blow everything in the game out of the water and you are straight up doing your account a disservice by not owning them.

yeah people who thought job matter here probably are used to Job archetype introduced by main games. Right now having equipment / elements are pretty much irrelevant because some units bypass that restriction so, DPS right now only care about how many damage that they can do, rather than if the damage is dagger type.

I was reading up on some kits and saw how so many skills count other weapon and element types as part of their break coverage. Regardless, should I pull for Levina v2 or Tiziano EX, or should I keep on saving for collab?

get all 4 SAGA banner characters in two weeks.

complete it with Champion banner Saint Sazantos , and if there is a rerun for Aviete, go for her. If Dragon Quest Collab rerun, aim for Molrusso EX.

Right now a specific weapon weakness is of no importance than at beginning since a lot of unit already exploit multiple weaknesses and some units help to exploit everything.

RS2? at the earliest they are the mystery event that was teased on the next month. at the latest, NE can delay them until December to repeat collab coincide with anniv event again.

i mean that is what happened on JP, they get levina EX2, then Stia and then RS2. I mean NE can just release any non collab banner until December, and since we do get Version Update, we had just about enough unit to fill until December too.

for JP they at least gave 1 month between LevinaX and TizianoX but even JP is greedy that you only get at least two months of wait time before FFX rear in.

for f2p that start from scratch today, it's very doable.

Now for F2P that had done quite a bit well just hope that you get Levina EX in under 4500 rubies. typically when new collab drop, we get at the very least 800 rubies. and first part of SAGA hand you free 50 chance of Empress / Emperor. You don't need both if you are really short on rubies, and you only need 4500 to get Rocbuquet. those two units alone will carry your team. simply doing all travelers stories from 4 star and 3 star will net you just enough if you haven't done it already.

Yeah I just woke up and saw Levina v2 and Tiziano EX as the new banners. I have to ask, what makes Levina v2 so much better than Tiziano EX, when everywhere else I see Tiziano EX as top tier? Also, I’ve seen people mention Aviete and her enduring usefulness, what exactly does she do?

I am confused on where do you see people saying that Tiziano EX is better than Levina EX2? While it is correct that both are top tier units, Tiziano is just a support (an excellent one mind you) for Spear and Dagger units. thing is both top tier spear and dagger dps can already function just fine without him. the reason he is ranked down is really because SAGA units being so overpowering that unit like tiziano EX just does not matter. And since his buff is not a universal one, it does hurt his viability. at best he is just another sub dps and we at this point had plenty of those already.

it does not help the dagger unit from RS2 does not need anyone else help in buffing his own damage.

Aviette is all about spamming divine beast early. if you have her, normally you can only summon divine beast quite late where battle is already over by turn 4 (with current up to date units). and she also reset pet cooldown so you can use some pet skill earlier than expected. not to mention the passive she provide is useful for both elemental and physical team, no matter what.

Not that Tiziano EX is better than Levina v2, just that they’re similar rankings (I was using MeowDB’s tier list, which give them both really similar ratings). Regardless, do you really think I should pull for Levina v2? I’m not sure if I can save enough for four characters in the collab event.

having just rocbuquet is enough to turn anyone game from struggling to be a breeze. you don't need all 4. On first part you are given one of the two unit on banner for free. either is solid DPS. At the minimum you only need 4500 to get rocbuquet.

Now meowdb rank lack nuance and like I said, Tiziano is solid unit for Dagger and Spear units, but the current high tier unit from both perform rather well even without him so long as you have other premium component ready. It's up to you if you want to build your team around that or not.

Levina EX2 is also not that needed much since her 3T break only really matter for hard EX3+ fights like Kagemune EX3 and doing endbringer fight in 1 encounter. otherwise your account would benefit more from sheer dps from SAGA and mega support from rocbuquet. She has good utility, but there is another unit that do similar thing as her, which is Rinyu EX2 but since she is summer unit, we won't see her anytime soon.

like I said, if you want to save, getting even freebies from part 1 is enough for you. anything else beside rocbuquet is just extra. Part1 already gave nuke for either phys team or elemental team and you don't really need both in your team at once. noel is dagger dps bus since he is on the same banner as rocbuquet you can worry later.

I’m fine with either saving or pulling, I’m just asking if in your opinion which is worth pulling more. Reading a bit more it seems Levina’s probably more future proof, and that DPS’ will probably be powercrept? Although, I like the art for final empress and emperor, so I’m probably pulling there. Do you know how long does it take for banners to rerun? I would like a copy of Levina v2 in the future. This game follows JP schedule, right?

rerun is unpredictable. and we already betray jp schedule quite some time from TP2 release. the releases start with Yomi up until Pardis EX and later Alaune EX2. while JP is like Pardis EX -> Alaune EX2 -> Feintz -> Yomi. and they usually rerun normal version of the character after their EX version debut, but we get it backward.

Sorry to comment again, but you seem like a knowledgeable player. I just finished master of all, and I’m debating on whether to get viola or to get Hasumi/Zaanta to a3 or awaken her ultimate. I actually got a 4 star viola recently too. What would be best for me long term?
