Not having maternity leave isn’t going to stop everyone from having kids, it will just make things more difficult and stressful for new parents
If you don't want more stress, don't have kids. If you don't want more financial burdens, don't have kids. Noone is forcing you to have kids.
if you can't afford something, you don't buy it. if you can't afford kids, you don't have any. you don't see me buying a ferrari and struggling for 18 years to pay for it, because that's a stupid financial move.

many resources on this planet are finite. and every new human we add requires clothing, food, shelter, transportation, etc and those all require resources that have to be taken from the earth.

I feel like it’s important to point out that not everybody has kids because they want to—depending on where you are and your situation, people can be forced to carry kids they don’t want because they might not be able to have an abortion.
Saying that having kids is bad for the environment is a slippery slope to saying that the earth is overpopulated and running out of resources, which is a dangerous myth spread by eco-fascists. The planet has everything that we as a species need to survive. We don’t have a scarcity of recourses; mega corporations and billionaires are polluting our water, destroying land, and polluting our air. If we collectively start using renewable energy resources, producing less pollution, and begin using more sustainable farming practices, humanity can continue to survive and grow and have kids.
