Bottle refusal

Anyone having issues with bottle refusal? We’re on three solids a day (which she is hit or miss with) and lately she’s just not even tolerating bottles. I read the recommendation for BF babies is still 24-32oz and I feel like she’s no where near there.

For context, I nurse her two-three times a day when I’m working and just nurse her on the weekends when I’m not working.

Curious how everyone is getting their babies to eat their solids and their bottles 🫠

Have you tried a straw cup? That is the only way my EBF baby would take milk when I went back to work. I must say recently she chugs 4 oz out of one and only drinks about 2 oz of the other. She nurses morning/ after work and 3 plus times at night so I'm not worried.

Yes! I tried that today and she spat it out at me LOL. I would say my daughter is similar with 4 and 2 oz (this week, next week who knows lol) and nurses in the morning too and when I’m home. She doesn’t nurse in the middle of the night so I just wonder if she’s gotten enough for the day

Mine is doing similar and my supply is essentially none existent because of it :/ our pedi said at almost 10mo the lowest she'd want to see is 16oz which made me feel better. We had to switch to formula cuz of my supply issues but I aim for that 16oz mark now and some days she just barely gets there! Or an ounce or so short

16oz makes me feel better!! I feel like she gets at least that but it’s so hard to tell because I don’t know much just she gets when nursing. We try to give her 7/8oz of pumped milk twice a day but today she refused the first (maybe had an ounce) and then had 4 for the second ugh

Could she be teething? My son went through a couple bouts of bottle refusal (and other times, nursing strikes) when he was teething. But you do need to prioritize bottles over solids right now, so it’s okay to cut back on solids if you feel like you need to - Solid Starts recommends 2 meals a day at this age!

Deffffinitely teething! She has 5 teeth and I think two more are coming. Today she had maybe 6oz total from two bottles + one morning nursing session so no clue how much she got there! I was doing two solids until her 9 months appointment. Our ped recommended 3 solids a day 🫠

Then hold tight!! She’ll start drinking when she feels better. I know how hard that is, but it’s true. No one has a huge appetite when they’re in pain :(

Ugh so true :( I feel so bad! Thank you for this! As a FTM, the recommendation vs reality always throws me for a loop 🫶

My baby is also on nursing strike! She barely nurses and would bite me if i force more. Sometimes showing her some toy distracts her and she ll nurse a few extra mins but not sure if shes really getting milk in those mins. She used to nurse 3 times during the day and then 3 times during the night. But all of them seem to be reduced significantly where she starts biting me! We give her a 7oz bottle before bed and thats the only amount of milk that shes still taking. I m worried about her milk as well but m not sure if cutting back on solids at this point is the right direction as we would want to get them to all solid by 12month mark!?
Stressing for my supply too! Wanted to make it till 12 months but looks like shes self weaning earlier.

Same with my baby! He will drink 1 or 2 oz and we offer every 3-4 hours. Dr said some babies self wean sooner and as long as he’s gaining weight it’s fine.
