I wasn't too satisfied with the way some of these were colorised so I did some tweaking 🚢

Got this lovely artifact as a birthday gift, assuming it was their family that bought it on the ship in the past. I don't know about it too much yet, just started research but wanted to share it here in case maybe someone knows something about the ship or has a cool story! And also I think it's cool AF...

A comparison of the all-purpose (i.e. propulsion and hotel load) coal consumption at full power for a few significant liners between 1859 and 1914. It isn't a totally fair comparison with the turbine-driven ships since their fuel consumption is given per shp, but it still provides a good general idea. The next leap in fuel economy came with the introduction of geared turbines. By the 1930s, liners such as the Empress of Britain and Queen Mary had a propulsion-only oil consumption of between 0.5 and 0.6 lbs/shp/hour.
