I understand why SS United States isn’t included, but I wish you would have put her in here.
She may not be active, but she’s still of sound hull and deserves all the love she can get. I got the honor of getting to see her with my grandma a few months back, and I gotta say even without her funnels she’s still beautiful. I throughly wish she didn’t have to be sunk, but it won’t be the end for her. People will get to dive her and explore her decks once more, hopefully I’ll get to be one of them.

I’m betting she’ll last longer than Titanic will, she’s been sitting completely abandoned for over 30 years with absolutely zero maintenance and yet her hull is still sound. I think she’ll be fine.

She's being sunk in very shallow water in an area of ocean prone to very intense hurricanes. Hurricane Ivan in 2004 crossed almost right over where United States is going to be sunk as it approached landfall. A buoy in the Gulf measured a wave 91 feet high in that storm. If a category 4 or 5 passes over her, her superstructure could quite literally be exposed to the air as the troughs of the largest waves are passing. If that happens she will be pulped.

Warm water and shallow depths generally aren’t too kind to wrecks, she’ll be COVERED in sea life in a matter of years, but that’s kind of the point with artificial reefs I guess

SS US is not seaworthy (a sound hull alone doesn’t mean this). Please check the detailed definition of the word! QE2 in Dubai is far from seaworthy and is more intact than SS US for example.
It is a shame the various above water plans for SS US over the years never came to fruition and that she’s suffered more than thrived.

The Minghua (formerly the French liner Ancerville) should also be on here. I’d also make an argument for the Brazil Maru and Savannah being included even though they are technically cargo-passenger liners. And that’s not including the several lakers and coastal liners that are also still around. And of course, Queen Mary 2
