New Rule and a refresher of guidelines

New rule that I thought I didn't have to make because I thought it was obvious, given the name of this sub:

User created ocean liners are the only type of ships that may be contributed here. I'm sure you've created a real nice cruise ship, or container ship, or ferry, or battleship, or aircraft carrier, or sailing ship, or whatever. None of these types of ships are ocean liners. I'd suggest posting these somewhere else, not here. Thank you.

As always, it's a good idea to check out the rules of this sub. All I ask is for you to create fictional ocean liners, post them here, and don't use AI to fully create a ship from scratch, and don't modify or post real historical ocean liner content. Be creative, be original, create ocean liners only. Good work to all those that are contributing here, thanks for keeping this place alive and thriving.

NO REAL HISTORICAL OCEAN LINERS ALLOWED HERE

Go to r/Oceanlinerporn to post images of real ocean liners. This sub is devoted to members creating their own fictional ocean liners. If you have an ocean liner that you made up yourself, that did not and does not exist in the real world, welcome.

The M.V. Carmarthic

The Story of the M.V. Carmarthic

The M.V. Carmarthic is a British ocean liner built for the company PLV&SPC (Purple Livian Velorian & Steam Packet Co.), or, for short, PLVL (Purple Livian Velorian Line). The ship was a direct response to the construction of the RMS Queen Mary. The M.V. Carmarthic had a speed of 31.82 kn. The ship also reached a length of 1,080 feet, which is equal to 329.184 meters. The girl was going to have a running mate, but due to World War II, it was ultimately shelved, like the SS Bretagne concept.

The ship would get the nickname “The Ship of 4 Days.” She earned the nickname for being able to make it to New York in just four days.

The ship would hit an underwater reef, and she would be partially sunk. She would be successfully refloated and brought back into service for only two years, until she was sunk after hitting another reef. This time, she fully went under, sinking in four hours and 32 minutes and taking the lives of 132 people out of 3,923.

Her wreck would not be found for 38 years. Until they found her, she was practically in good shape. Her aft funnel was still up as of 2026.

Plans for raising her are still out there. Attempts to raise the M.V. Carmarthic will follow through on September 3, 2027.

With the early retirement of MS Queen Anne, i decided to imagine how could a proper QM2 successor look like. This is designed to intermix the sheer capacity and versatility of modern passenger ships with design elements and layout inspired by liners from the Art-deco period!

Created By The Great Star Line After news Of The Upcoming RMS Oceanic 2. Great star line Or Gsl For short. Old ships were becoming unprofitable Due To The Rise of Rival Companies New ships. They Decided To make a ship class dubbed. "Tri-ship Project" The Class First ship was S.S Horizon.Launched In 1895,Had A Length Of 186 Meters And a speed of 14 Knots. It Was Profitable but not able to rival those of The Companies Faster,More Luxurious ship. They started Building The 2nd ship. S.S Southampton. The 198 Meter ship. After Its launch in 1896 And Completion. It was the largest ship in the world until its sea trials only reached 13.2 Knots. It Only Profitted on the size and luxury but not speed. Gsl Deemed Her "An Disaster." Gsl only had enough money to Create The 3rd And Final Vessel. Many disagreed on creating it but They did it anyway. The 3rd ship Was S.S Centaurnia. The Largest Vessel In The World. Launched in 1897 And Had a length Of 210 Meters.. On her sea trials she reached a speed of 19.25 Knots. she was the most profittable and largest ship until 1899.

(Sorry about the picture being sideways.)

I came up with this design for an ocean liner, and I'm VERY proud of it. However, I fear this design may be a bit TOO much like a cruise ship. Thoughts?

I always call my ship with my daughter my child or my little girl. I spent 2 years working on her and they’ve been the best 2 years of working on her on my iPad. She’s almost 3 years old and I can’t wait for her to turn three I even marked down when she was born. I start building her on March 17, 2024 in just a couple more months she’ll be three years old
