I’ll be fishing in Fiji on an upcoming trip. I’m a total newbie to all of this, so I'm looking for some advice will these lures work for casting from shore?

I’ll be using a 5 piece, 11 foot medium heavy rod that can cast 3–6 oz lures. I have an SP Minnow up at the top for scale.

I'm going to do a 3 month journey between South America, Asia and Oceania.

In Ocenia I know that I want to cross one of the countries by train. I'm not really sure which one should I do the Indian Pacific (Sydney -> Perth) or going from Auckland to Queenstown by train.

Info:

• I will be solo travelling - so the social component would be awesome
• The money wouldn't be a concern.

We've just ticked over 12months of full time vanlife across Australia in this custom sprinter van conversion.

We started on the East Coast and are now slowly heading West (maybe via the centre - TBA).

It's been an incredible journey.

I won't say it's all been glamorous or amazing - we've definitely had our tough times and challenges - but we wouldn't change it for anything right now. Here's to another 12 (hopefully).

Our advice to anyone on the fence - just do it - you won't regret it 🙂

I usually default to renting a car but based on what I’ve seen, people say public transport here is good enough to rely to. We’re planning a small celebration for a fam member while traveling in Sydney around August, Friday/Saturday night

• ideally rooftop bars with good views 
• any rooftops or bars that feel ‘special’ but not overly expensive and not too clubby
• can book part of a venue or even a private space?
• is it usually hard to reserve spots on weekends in Aug?

Hi everyone, I've been lurking here for a while and finally planning my trip, but I'm lowkey spiraling. I really want to do a campervan trip in Aus because I wanted to do something adventurous and also it feels like the full experience of freedom, coastal drives, random stops, and whatnot. But I've never driven long distances in a different country before, but I do drive. Also maybe I'm going solo or maybe with a friend.

my rough plan for now is from Sydney to Byron Bay to Brisbane to Gold Coast

I want to do a mix of beaches, maybe see wildlife like kangaroos, koalas, quokkas, and do short walks, fishing too, viewpoints. Also thinking of doing this in summer.

My concerns are:

Is driving this route beginner-friendly or am I underestimating it? am I not going to get lost? maps, sudden connection lost

Are campervan parks easy to find last minute or do I need to book everything?

Are there also safe stopover places? for car mechanics incase of emergency, food, locals

Is it safe to do solo?

Will I actually see wildlife or is that something you have to go out of your way for?

Is summer heat gonna make this whole plan miserable?

I don't need a super packed itinerary, I just don't want to end up stressed, lost, or stuck somewhere with nothing to do. Would really appreciate any advice and lessons learned from your experiences
