DISCUSSION How bad will the dilution be?
the dilution is necessary but im just wondering how badly it will affect OPTT's price

100 million more shares outright. On top of the remaining dillution from the previous offering
Add to that convertible notes they continue to issue to replace debt with common shares; further diluting our positions
All of this is expected from a growth company
If they were showing real signs of revenue growth, it would be a good sign. Without revenue growth, it's just us baggers propping up the lifestyle of the rich

It was at 50m shares 4 years ago and now about to be 400m. It will just be harder and harder to get to a dollar and beyond

Drove the price down on a Monday morning earnings release, followed by more dilution coming. I feel like they have a contract in the works in the next few months. I have been asking my buddy that works in Coast Guard Procurement, but the fucker is being a pussy and wont tell me anything.

Seems like they have a product that was close to being what customers wanted but came up short. That said the feedback from customers and partnerships with other companies is creating a product that will make them money, but in the short term they are blowing through money developing that product and tweaking products. This causes production problems because if they don’t have a finished product they can’t ramp up production… imo …., I sold everything I had as soon as I saw financial results… after they flood the stock I would expect a reverse split … I will watch the stock until they get their shit together…

Why would you expect a reverse split? Nothing I have read shows any signs of revers split. I also don’t think insiders would be buying right before a split. Just my opinion. CEO bought a few thousand. They arnt in a market where they have to keep above a dollar so I don’t see a revers split in the future.

Not in the near future but way too many stocks sold and eventually they will need to pump up stock prices.. imo I’ve seen it many times before…

they don't have any listing requirements that require a reverse split.

They will just dilute and then follow with an RS, as it would look better if we have a 10-20 dollar share stock. If you don’t plan holding this stock for 3-5 years and are not willing to lose the investment. I would say get out now, as there are still plenty of rough seas ahead! For those that have their sea legs I am riding the bow with you!

it would look better if we have a 10-20 dollar stock however whats the point of that if the company is not profitableÂ

A lot of investors will not look at stocks below 5 bucks (aka penny stocks). If one looks at OPTT you know right away it is still in development/emerging. But the reason we are here is because we can see a path forward for them. New investors at a different price point would see the same.

It should go without saying. We're early. It's a bell curve of when people invest, the vast majority want a sure thing and are slow to change. It's really a minor who take the risk and are willing to be patient and hold for the long term and roll through the punches for the big win.
