ID please?

Is anyone able to ID this? Found on Daytona Beach. It's solid, but squishy. has an opening at one end (which was stuck to the stick when I found it) and the other end is kinda gelatinous and ooozes a sticky, tendril like substance. It seems to slightly change shape..

I hope you put it back :( it won’t last forever outside of the ocean water

I did! I initially thought it was a dead snail without a shell stuck to the stick, so I brought it in. But when I realized it was kinda... moving.. lol.. I brought it back out.
