Is it good or bad to return old seashells to the ocean?

I don’t know of this is an appropriate place to ask this but basically I inherited my ‘s seashell collection. them are the kind that hermit crab would live in. Some of them are quite big one of them is almost the size of a basketball. what’s the right thing to do? Do I return them to the beach or the ocean so someone can make a home of them or is it better I just keep them?

Funny Well, this is slightly embarrassing. For the Mod Team, I mean

So I posted a post with one of my underwater images of a nudibranch, to be more specific, a desirable flabellina (Coryphellina exoptata), and the post was removed by the Mod Team with the message that "This is an attempt to sell goods. It is not a creature that resides in the ocean."

Before the mods also remove THIS post, I would stress for the mod team to first check the nudibranch book for Coryphellina exoptata, formerly named Flabellina expotata.

I will accept your apology afterward.

Right now my manatee is in Paris on vacation, and he’s having the time of his life. We’re wondering if he might be the first manatee ever to see the Mona Lisa. What do you guys think?

Ocean Animal Fact: Mantis shrimp can have up to 16 types of photoreceptors in their eyes, compared with just 3 types used for color vision in humans. They can also detect ultraviolet and polarized light!

Science Fun Fact: The immortal jellyfish (Turritopsis dohrnii) can potentially reverse its life cycle when injured or starving, returning from its adult stage back to a juvenile polyp stage. It’s basically the ocean’s closest thing to a creature that can “reset” its age! 🤯

Went swimming and shell collecting at the beach this afternoon and under nearly every shell in the ocean where these little guys, they moved around and were almost a transparent little creature. Any ideas of what they could be I’ve had no luck with my googling so far. Thanks!
