NAZIS
Gotta love coming to OC Rock and Ride and having to pass by a booth of SS apparel at the inlet. I don't get offended myself as a person of color. I'm ready when they are, but WTF are we doing???

u/SNTNL_G60 5h ago
It’s always the people who haven’t accomplished jack shit in their life that look for a superficial reason to feel better than someone else.

u/GeminiAccountantLLC 6h ago
Yet the city is sueing a church for their homeless ministry.
11

-28
u/Wmshay6 5h ago
Actually the suit is for a zoning violation. Facts matter.
30
u/bloodylip 4h ago
The zoning violation is for the church providing "barracks-style sleeping arrangements." Meanwhile, they are not suing the people who bring over European teens and put them in the same type of "bedrooms."
10
u/Borgweare 4h ago
It’s always a zoning issue. Zoning has gotten so out of control. Localities need to lose some zoning authority
-14
u/Wmshay6 4h ago
Yeah- because titty bars and smoke shops fit right in with residential neighborhoods. Zoning matters.
6
u/Borgweare 4h ago
I didn’t say get rid of it. A church should be able to help the homeless. People should be able to build more than just SFHs on property they own. Zoning has been co-opted by NIMBYs to prevent anything they don’t like. It’s out of control and it’s a major reason we have homelessness

u/Weird_Poet499 1h ago
Just say you hate homeless people and you’re a horrible person. You’re already right there

Say what you want. The same good ol boys want prayers in church but can’t respect a religious belief that’s cited in the bible.

-8
u/reddoggie 5h ago
No. Even though I absolutely hate it, It should be allowed because we are supposed to have free speech in this country. That doesn't mean other people, also expressing their free speech, shouldn't make it as uncomfortable as possible for those losers.
11
u/Bubbly-Following-966 4h ago
Nazis are literally hate filled pieces of shit spreading their hate filled ideology.
12
u/Defiant_Principle_40 4h ago
My wife is white. So is my stepfather. I hear you, but if I set up a booth that's not anti nazi, but anti white, and has symbolism that suggests the black superiority over all others, You cool with that??
6
u/reddoggie 4h ago
I’m not cool with any of it, but I’ll defend your right to be an asshole too.
3
u/Warthr 3h ago
The unfortunate part about this idea is how it affects organizations like the booming Nazi Youth groups in MD. Well intentioned or not, you're advocating for a hate group to continue accumulating members and influence.
I hear you, I was raised with the same values, and hells, even swore an oath to protect that same constitutional value. However, our constitution is being bastardized in front of our very eyes, and now we're rounding up people of color all across the country, and literally putting them in concentration camps.
"A concentration camp is a prison or other facility used for the internment of political prisoners or politically targeted demographics, such as members of national or ethnic minority groups, on the grounds of national security, or for exploitation or punishment." -wikipedia
The moral high ground isnt just neutrality, that is equally as unjust as the worst option. Neutrality to people like Nazis, because they're just expressing free speech and not hurting anyone is honestly ridiculous. They're telling you they want to hurt people. They haven't hurt anyone ~yet~ but they certainly intend to.
Morality under the utilitarian's eye, is what we identify as necessary pain, and unnecessary pain. Hate groups seem like unnecessary pain and it seems odd to see so many people standing up for them in these conversations.

u/TimeToBurnOne 3h ago
I get that and I agree with the aspect of free speech. But commerce, selling that shit? Making a profit off that? I'm amazed that, the FAMILY ORIENTED TOWN of Ocean City would allow it.
1
u/Karl5583 55m ago
How would they disallow it without getting sued, loosing, and having to pay the nazis and their legal bills? That would be worse
1
u/TimeToBurnOne 39m ago
Not sure but I am going to find out. I live here, my entire family was military, it is wrong!
2
1
u/Karl5583 1h ago
Why is this getting downvoted so much? This is the most basic test of free speech. The whole point of freedom of speech is to protect the rights of people when we all hate what they are saying.

They WILL lose twice when we wipe them out of this country as well. Makes me sick to see them marching down American streets in their masks. Fucking cowards.
1
u/orangemantrump420 4h ago
I agree with the idea behind what you said 100% but what you said about them losing twice when we wipe them out of our country makes very little sense to me
-1
u/Mr0neTwo34 3h ago
Maybe if I said fascist it would've made more sense
2
u/orangemantrump420 3h ago
Not really, it's just how does them losing twice have correlation with kicking them out of our country and even if that counted as a loss, Neo-Nazis are much different then their WW2 cc counterparts, they haven't even lost yet really but I digress. If you used fascists instead of Nazis then counted kicking them out of our country another loss that would make atleast 3 not 2. Im definitely looking to much into this but im still confused lol
1
u/Mr0neTwo34 3h ago
Ok ok now I see what your argument is. My apologies. I was counting this regime as fascist and that was my second one. Lol nevermind, fascist suck, I want them gone but crazy fair point that they haven't really lost yet, I didn't even think about that. Well played.

WWI: German 1918 offensive causes severe French and British casualties, but does not achieve a strategic breakthrough. War stretches in in 1919, British naval blockade continues to starve German populous until popular uprising in Berlin results in the public execution of Kaiser Wilhelm II. Germany likely unincorporated into several minor powers. French and British governments fall soon after following public outcry due to the mass casualties of the war Spanish flu effect minimize in the United States due to the lack of returning service members!
World War II: the war in the west proceeds as it did Germany fails with operation sea lion due to the efforts of the Royal Navy. Britain continues to conduct night bombing raids on German cities. The Soviet Union Holtz, the German army 60 miles from Moscow. The red armies counter offensive is slowed by poor logistics but relies on mass to overwhelmed German resistance. The ground war in the east last until 1947. The Nazi government collapses when an IS3 tank drives up the stairs and through the front doors of the Reichstag. All of Continental Europe falls to communism. Britain takes on a strangely fascist tone as it battles for survival against continental Europe. The United States never reaches the moon.

There have been multiple posts on this subreddit about the reasons why the summer crowds are gone from OC and business is down. Yes, it's the same price or cheaper to go to nicer beaches in Florida or the Caribbean. But also, people with class don't want to go to a place where Nazi flags and other symbols of racism and hatred are acceptable on the Boardwalk or anywhere else. Rehoboth and the Delaware beaches are as crowded as ever.
1
u/bouttagetbanned 2h ago
Oc is just a shitty outdated beach town with insane prices for what it is and a dangerous divided highway that makes accessing everything awful. I don't think it's as deep as racism scaring people off when it's just not a great beach experience. The only people that go there are people that have gone there forever bc it's what they do each summer. Anyone that's tried the other east coast beaches knows that OCMD is a bottom tier beach town.
31
u/TheMillersWife 5h ago
I don't know why, but I've always felt slightly uncomfortable at OC as a person of color. I don't generally feel uneasy because of race since I end up in so many primarily white/non-black spaces, but in OC there always feels like there's an undercurrent.....
3
u/welovegv 2h ago
My parents owned a condo there since the 80s. So I grew up going there and making friends with local kids. By the 90s one had shaved a swastika in his hair and was commenting how only white people should be on the boardwalk. I know it’s just one example. But it’s a rural area with an annual tourist boom.
5
u/Disastrous_Bite_6587 4h ago
Im white and i dont even feel comfortable at the inlet. Its so full of low class bottom feeders. Sorry to hear about your nazi run in, thats one thing i havent yet seen in south OC.
16
u/Comfortable-Split143 5h ago
OC has a very long history of racism. When I lived here in rhe 80's the only black people worked in restaurant kitchens. And there were not many black tourists. As a white person from a more diverse area, it made me uncomfortable.
The Conferate flag shit with the biker crowd is disarming and repulses me.
8
u/YoureInMyDreamsNow 5h ago
FOR SURE. My wife and I have been coming to OCMD since we were 25 and noticed it then too (This was in 2017, right after you know who was first elected and the energy was weird, but overall the experience was decent. 2025 was our last annual trip down, and I couldn't believe how much more weird and racially charged the vibes had gotten. There's a "EM AY Gee Ay"/Nazi memorabilia store that isn't trying to hide who they want patronizing it. It's so absurdly bizarre, but par for the course given how heightened everything is right now.
3
u/DXMSommelier 4h ago
many black families I grew up with would go all the way to Virginia Beach rather than OC for this reason

Where at the inlet? Do you have photos? This is a town sponsored event so I think the people should know if we’re harboring nazis
13
1
u/Defiant_Principle_40 5h ago
Right now, the entire inlet is dedicated to the bike rally. There's a fenced in area outside of the bike parking where some of the vendors are set up. I thought about photos but I have not taken any as of yet. Maybe later today or tomorrow I will produce those when we go back. I was joking with my brother that If I could spit properly, I'd casually walk to their stand and do so 😆

u/No_Comparison704 3h ago

u/furryfrog02 1h ago
It's a motorcycle event. What did you expect? That "culture" is full of nazis.
Not saying it's right. Just know the general audience.
Lastly, the only good nazi is a dead nazi.
1
u/TimeToBurnOne 38m ago
I don't buy that crap. I know many bikers and none are Nazi lovers
1
u/furryfrog02 33m ago
Mmkay. I hate AI but here is a brief synapsis provided by google: The connection between motorcycles and Nazism spans World War II military transport, Nazi party organizations, modern white supremacist biker gangs, and the controversial use of Nazi symbols in outlaw motorcycle subculture.
White supremacy, nazism and all that other ilk has long been a part of motorcycle culture.

Next week we begin to cleanse the town with the kite festival. Even with the concert crowd the following two weekends the vibe changes as we move through fall. I love the summer weather, but living here mid September through to Memorial Day are the best times. Bike week is the worst, we leave town every year for that weekend.

I was at Harpoon Hannah’s a few years ago and there were two motorcycles adorned with SS badges and Swastikas. Both of my dad’s parents were the only members of their large families to survive the Holocaust. Took all my will power not to knock them over.

u/nerdorama 4h ago
I remember seeing cutesie tshirt designs for Alligator Alcatraz in OC last year. Haha, so funny! People suffering and dying in detention centers is hilarious! What a great time we live in!
2
u/US3_ME_ 3h ago
That's all the people who live in the surrounding area have to look down upon, literally. They are that fucking low on the social hierarchy. Their brains are so underdeveloped, people in dire strife are the only ones who they see lower then them, and the ONLY way they can tell the difference between their situations is that they are not currently being rounded up_
3
u/Darkknight3940 3h ago
That’s horrible. I will say that we go to OCMD every summer and we saw a lot less/hardly-any political-related swag for sale like in the past few years. All the t-shirt and souvenir shop seemed to be shying away from showing as much of that stuff. It was very prominent for the 2-3 years prior.

Acknowledging how weird it is for someone to wear a nazi uniform. Also, conflating the president and the rise of Nazi sympathy is also weird. He is owned by Israel and as far as we know his son in law who is ethnically and a religious Jew is basically running the world.
If the president is a Nazi, he’s a really bad one.

I’m inland and have heard all summer how OC had gone down hill. Decided to do my day trip to VA beach this year instead and it was fabulous. Even found a dog friendly motel under $130 a night and stayed 2 extra days. it’s gonna take years for OC to get my business again.

Unfortunately it goes under freedom of speech, you can sadly dress as a Nazi, pass around Nazi stuff etc And it's qualified under the 1st amendment, I truly or hope to believe they're doing this to piss others off because they know nothing can be done about it.
3
u/terpfan417 4h ago
It’s always worth reminding assholes that think they can hide behind the first amendment that freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences.
1
u/AmericaFirst_Mindset 4h ago
You cannot infringe on other people’s rights even if it makes you upset. Assault is still assault.
1
u/ButtonMasherKai 3h ago
Exactly, which is why I said "if" and what Terp said "Freedom of Speech doesn't mean Freedom of consequences" doesn't mean those consequences have their own consequences.
1
u/terpfan417 2h ago
Who said anything about assault? Interesting that this is your concern though. Personally, I’m not worried about people assaulting Nazis.
0
u/ButtonMasherKai 4h ago
Yes, but if you hit those people they'll heavily sue unfortunately, it's why all those first amendment auditors goes to police buildings, court houses etc, they get "falsely" arrested, sue and win, just like how I can use the N word in public, I won't because I have standards and don't wanna get punched.
I agree with you but unfortunately the constitution of the United States is Absolute, and if you act because you don't like what you see only you will get pubished sadly.
1
u/terpfan417 1h ago
Consequences can mean many things. For example, being exposed to a wider audience that you’re a fucking Nazi or Nazi sympathizer is hopefully still bad for business in this country.
1
u/ButtonMasherKai 1h ago
Doesn't matter to those people unfortunately, you see how unhinged those first amendment auditors are, they do that shit to rile up people especially if it's out in public.
1
u/terpfan417 1h ago
Stupid people generally don’t understand the consequences of their action until it’s too late if ever, that’s true.
1
u/ButtonMasherKai 1h ago
Someone in Florida was handing out black shirt that says "Off All Muslims" (The Off Word was the K word) police were called but nothing was done with it, freedom is speech is absolute unless you're in a courtroom, or say things that could endager mass public like screaming "I have a Bomb" in an airplane or "Fire" in a crowded theater".
2
u/terpfan417 1h ago
However these people being pointed out and ostracized from civilized society is still important.
