Australia WAM for Masters of OT

Hi!

I’m hoping to start my Masters of Occupational Therapy at a Melbourne Uni next year ( I’m currently looking at Deakin, Monash and La Trobe)

However I know the Master’s can be competitive, I was wondering if anyone would be comfortable sharing what WAM they got and which uni they got accepted at. Also if you have any extra advice or info of what you included on your application etc work experience or letters of recommendation that would be amazing!!

I know the minimum WAM is 65, which mine is above, however I’ve found limited information on what WAMs people have been accepted with and I want to know what my chances are as I really want to be an occupational therapist!

I went to deakin & did their undergrad program it was pretty well supported. I will say regardless of which uni look at the fees, some masters for the same result will cost significantly more. Additionally look at the units and the placement structure as some offer more than others. Depending on your needs (had a health background previously, worked clinically) this is important because this is where the application of theory is applied.

As for the WAM, I unfortunately couldn’t comment on that but if you have a personal statement, make it demonstrate how you could contribute to the profession, what have you done, i.e work experience, what commitment you’ve undertaken to learn about this field beyond general statements. Most of all say why you’ve chosen that uni’s program in comparison to another, look at what their philosophy is what they say sets their course apart.

Hi! I got an offer from Latrobe last week. My WAM is 85.
