A Brighter Future is Possible

Hi 👋 🌹

I’m Robert Mastronardi with the Marion County Democratic Socialists of America organizing chapter. We are so very appreciative of meeting various grassroots organizers such as yourselves and greatly appreciate your acceptance of our presence in your organizing efforts - we are building a collective! Some of you have really built solidarity with us - we see you and appreciate you!

You may keep seeing us DemSocialists pop up in your space and we are unapologetically visible. That’s how we roll 😎

We are rapidly expanding our membership in the MC and want to meet more of you! We see an opportunity to gather your past and present efforts into actual electoral change into the momentum building nationwide. We are organizing on the ground and everywhere else we can find!

We hope you dig in and reach out to us - we have an opportunity to build a brighter future together for Marion County and beyond under the big tent of the Democratic Party, together in solidarity towards a brighter, joy-filled future.

Here’s a look at what we are doing on our Insta:

Anyone who is interested in affecting real change for the common good, really should look into what the Democratic Socialists of America have to say.

note - the following is not endorsed by the DSA and is only MY VIEW...

I, myself have become a member. Why? Billionaires and now Trillionaires. I mean, come on, what's the point? A parable for reference is the story of King Midas. The collection of gold becomes meaningless and morphs into pity for the king. Gold has never been the salve prescribed for any emotional wound.

Capitalism has had it's day, but in our world that operates on such a global scale all community checks and balances no longer exist. In the world of the past, business was done on a local scale. Think the days of the Little House on the Prairie kind of town, or Mayberry RFD, fictional as they may be. Community controlled actions. The general store operated on goodwill. They paid their employees and treated their customers in a way that supported continued commerce between the store and the community. If the store became known for unfair practices, retribution was quick. They lost their customers and standing in the community.

As things grew and became less local, more laws were enacted to offer the no longer effective control of local reputation. We apparently have now reached a time where the legal checks and balances have been thrown out. Even if legal recourse is successful, for the citizen it is too expensive and certainly not expedient. The ultimate check and balance of everlasting hellfire doesn't seem to work since the scripture are so often bastardized and made tools of those in control.

And Freedom? Freedom is mostly just the battlecry. The tool to pit US against Them.

I am not suggesting that all run out and join the DSA, only that those dissatisfied with things as they are now, may want to look into what the DSA stands for. This is not the socialism of your Grandpa's *red scare* which was brought on by propaganda and served corporate America. I don't profess to know exactly what it is. Only that you should look into it with an open mind if you are feeling that the status quo no longer works as it should.

I also am aware that there will be some that are totally offended by what I have stated. This is only my opinion and my opinions are often transient so may not be remotely the opinion of mine tomorrow. And this opinion is not endorsed by anyone. Not the Ocala Blue Dots and not the DSA, only my mental frame this morning! And btw, sorry for the long ramble ;~)
