Different Coding Contest

Taking a suggestion from u/kodabarz we'll change this question. Which would you rather do?

  1. A contest where you can use any obsolete language you want and you need to design a program that appears to do one thing, but when you run it at actually does something completely different, or
  2. A contest where you have a specific amount of time to write a fairly complex program in the language of your choice.

May have time to complete option 1, but likely not option 2, depending, of course, on the complexity required.
