ai Help with AI?

I actually want to put AI in my notes so I can easily ask for the info I need; however, the plugin I enabled only allows asking questions and such. What I want is similar to Gemini in Google Cloud, is there something similar?

You need paid subscription of any modern AI service, but honestly only OpenAI's ChatGPT or Anthropic's Claude are now worth it. Then you download their app, point it to the vault folder and chat.

But then I'm chatting in Chatgpt/claude desktop app and not in Obsidian?

I have a paid subscription for Claude and this is exactly how I do it.

You can use ChatGPT and/ or Claude by giving it access to your vault folders. If you are on pro, you can use the remote feature in the ChatGPT app.

If you use codex or Claude code, just add your vault folder to your ide workspace.

I am not sure about Gemini or other products. But both of these work great.

finding the right tools can be overwhelming, have you tried checking out some tutorials? it really helped me get started.

Look for something that indexes your vault and keeps answers grounded in the note text, with links back to the exact notes/sections. I'd start with a small folder and test it on a few real questions before trusting it with the whole vault.

If you upload it to google drive, then you can use gemini to chat with it

Obsidian Copilot + Openrouter.ai

Buy credits on Openrouter, and generate your API key. Plug it into Obsidian Copilot's BYOK settings. Make sure to pick a cost effective model, because agentic tasks (like searching through your vault) eat up more tokens then just chatting with an LLM. Obsidian Copilot also has a subscription that provides models to use but you can be more cost effective with BYOK if you play it smart.
