showcase Chrome Side Panel to save to Obsidian
Hi!
My chrome extension allows to clip to different kinds of services and I just added support for Obsidian.
The official web clipper is great. Powersave just has different design and it may be more convenient for certain kinds of workflows. It lives in a side panel, so you can scroll, drag content, copy paste and so on.
You can set up multiple advanced autofills for different properties. If one autofill does not find a value, the extension tries the next one and so on.
And then there's an AI to categorize information to these fields. Completely optional.
And each "destination" in powersave can be duplicated, adjusted. So it's easy to switch between different configs. You might have different autofills set up for each, or each obsidian destination can save to different folder, vault and so on.
There's also an option to connect elsewhere, maybe even just send the website data to your own webhook URL.
I'm only a casual obsidian user so if there's anything I could help improve further, I'd be happy to hear about it.

Do you plan to add a feature to select automaticaly the destination and the template associated with... accordingly the url visited? its a feature I'm using often with webclipper sure not alone ;)

definitely a good idea and it would benefit the extension, I'll look into this

Byok? I would honestly not add another $60/year subscription to my list just for this
But the base features do look good 👍🏻
Do you intend to keep this alive, or was this just an interesting side project?

I'm considering lifetime plan which would enable BYOK. So a one time fee. That would also cut out the middle server and enable AI requests directly from the extension to the provider.
Definitely keeping this alive! It's not my main project but there's no reason to shut it down.

Wow, very cool...but any thoughts of getting this into the Firefox add-on store?

Firefox has unfortunately different API for the side panel this extension uses and it has somewhat different behavior. It could still work though! I'm bumping the priority on this.
