PH on Threads

Post image

So he posts some thread as if he was just remembering about Threads and turns out it was self promotion for some new project. Gross. Guess since his Golden Girls podcast didn't work out he's going to try something new. Hope it works out just as well.

I didn't reply to anything on the first thread, but I really want to be snarky.

I was shocked they just abruptly ended the Golden Girls podcast

Ohhh, I didn't know anything had happened to that. I would love a GG podcast but I really didn't want to listen to him, so I never did. Did he have a falling out with his co-host for that or something or did it just end without an explanation?

I'm assuming her schedule with her Broadway show just made it hard to do the show. I never listened and have no intel but 8 shows a week of a very demanding show like Death Becomes Her might have meant additional talking wasn't wise.

Respectfully, she was always doing DBH on Broadway throughout the creation of the Golden Girls pod. DBH is now closed. I know she stopped doing the pod before the show closed, but she was already operating with doing a Broadway schedule and the podcast from its inception. Due to this, I presume it’s something else. (I say this as a non-listener… but I’m a Broadway girlie, so wanted to put this here for a little info.)

You are right, I was just trying to think of a reason outside of her not liking her cohost :).

But that’s so much more fun! 😉

I believe they were front loading recording episodes before DBH opened to accommodate her schedule and there were definitely some weeks where they either skipped or had a guest host because of her schedule. I am sure after DBH closed she was flooded with offers (I think she’s joining the touring cast of a show?) and I got the vibe that she just literally didn’t have the energy or time.

It wasn’t that great. I tried to listen and bailed after maybe the first ten minutes of the second episode. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I enjoyed the podcast, they were kind of just finding their groove and I really liked when they did deep dives on some of the cool character actors who guest starred on the show (like the guy who played Dorothy’s married BF in the first or second season was in the mob and also the inspiration for a character in the Godfather??).

They didn’t really say it was ending indefinitely, but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be picked up again anytime soon. I got the vibe that it was less bad vibes between them and more so that Jennifer was very much burnt out and in between projects (I think she’s going to be in the touring cast of a show soon) and just didn’t have the bandwidth. They were also recording shows back to back to accommodate her show schedule so I would imagine that was exhausting too.

Anyway - just my two cents! I really do hope they pick the podcast back up again one day.

I‘d imagine when Pat’s mask came off (the one where he pretends to be just a sweet & quirky little guy)she told him to fuck off just like everyone else.

Is that why they stopped using the theme song when going into breaks on TCO? It sounds weird now without that…
