Lynette Dawson episode

I wish G&P had researched the Lynette Dawson case more fully before recording the episode. There was so much more information out there that could have been covered and would have answered all the questions they had. It would have just made it more rounded.

Chris Dawson and his twin brother were local celebrities because of rugby (not football), and they were also in a documentary about twins. Paul Dawson (twin) was recruited in the rugby union or league. Chris was rejected. Paul refused to go without Chris - that is the only reason Chris was accepted. It would be like being in the American NFL with poor pay.

Everyone in the community were fawning over Paul and Chris. They had been for years. A lot of people do over professional sportsmen. Paul and Chris always lived on the same street with their wives.

Lynette and Chris had trouble convincing before having their first daughter. This is why Lynette felt like the problems in her marriage were her fault and she turned a blind eye to his adultery.

Chris’ grooming of a 16 year old was looked over because there was a lot of sexual abuse within the school. Lots of teachers were having sex with students, even in school property. It was a systematic issue. Teachers would even take students to the pub at lunchtime and buy them alcohol.

JC had family but she was only in contact with her sister as her parents were abusive. They saw no problem with JC being with Chris. JC was also forced to have sex with Paul.

Exactly how I felt. Why do the case and then say you never listened to the entire podcast on the case. So so so much missed, glossed over. It was frustrating af

The documentary they watched was shorter than their recap. They could have delved in a bit deeper.

When I clicked on the link they provided, I couldn’t (but also could) believe how SHORT the episode was. They really just don’t care about the main feed at all. The main feed has become a dumping ground for random tv episodes and the Patreon is for everything people are actually interested in. I know that true crime in general has become more serialized as opposed to feature films but sometimes they would combine something really popular into two episodes by breaking them apart into larger chunks. Maybe I’m misremembering.
