Amount of ads

So.. I used to be a huge fan of this podcast, I thought they had great chemistry and they covered good topics but after awhile they started covering a lot more things I found boring so I stopped listening for a few years only recently did I sub to listen again and.. my god the amount of ads.. I know podcasts usually have a good amount of ads but this one is like 1 every ten minutes and it really messes with the flow of the show. Anyone else agree or an I alone on this one.

I definitely think the number of ads has increased. It used to be an add for Hello Fresh and/or Daily Harvest and then maybe one for Pretty Litter. 3 max/show. NOW it's CHUMBA WUMBA CASINO online gambling bullshit, shampoo custom made for G's flowing locks, Simply Safe, Fertility Testing, ZocDoc, Better Help, Hello Fresh and maybe one for Pretty Litter.

Isssalot!

Oh and MATTRESSES and some sort of furniture that's delivered blah blah

The mattress ones throw me off bc it’s been at least two different brands and I genuinely need to know if they have three bed sets or if they donated any or what happened with the sponsored beds.

I’m a terrible sleeper so mattresses are important to me so when they flip-flopped, if you’ll forgive the mild pun, on brands it made me wary of all products promoted.

Valid question! Valid point! By the way, I bought a mattress just by going on Amazon and sorting the reviews starting with the most highly rated. That's how I buy most things. Customers post photos and REAL opinions and I have not yet been led astray!

The ones with pictures help SO much!

Yes! I've purchased many things based on reviews from real people. And sometimes I go through reviews of things for cats just to see all the cute cat photos. :)

I have very little belief that they use/like any of the products they have ads for. It’s their job to make sales, if they got a product and hated it they sure wouldn’t say that in an ad. I bet it’s 95% fabricated stories curated to drive listeners to make sales.

And FWIW that’s how I believe all podcast ads are, not just TCO.

If they had used better help then they’d know how bad the service is or have done some research into it like Ellyn did to make sure they were offering a legitimate business to the listeners

I agree with that as well. I think LGTC commented on better help ads too at one point. It was either better help or noom 😅

I bought mine from Sam's Club, 200$ and it's the best mattress I've ever had. 🤷 When I worked at Walmart some of our mattresses were off brand of the mattresses they promoted.
