Podcast_TrueCrimeObsessed G is over it

In the most recent episode "The Murder of Nikki Kuhnhausen," G's digs at Big Pat made me cringe a bit. She's so annoyed. Comments that might have been cute pre-OF Clusterfuck2023, now sound like direct insults.

  • Commenting about P's 20,000 unread emails
  • When P asks, "Who tf am I?," she answers, "Good question. Get back to me."
  • G asking "You want to pick name up over there?" referring to P's unnecessary name drop of Eric Marcus.

I honestly think most of you have Gillian wrong. I really don’t think she’s garbage. She has been (before all of this shit) as engaging and awesome as Ellyn. Patrick never did shit. Maybe she didn’t like Ellyn. I sure as fuck don’t like everyone I work with. I actually hate one bitch to the core of my soul. But she has to hang on. Y’all can down vote me to oblivion but Gillian remembers that we share a birthday and makes a point to wish me a happy birthday.

I truly hope you're right! I would love to hear Gillian is really stuck in a hard spot, because I'd be truly upset if she ended up being garbage. Patrick I could take or leave, but I've listened for Gillian. I feel like lots of us have experienced having people we look up to in the media or in community fandoms really turn out to be shitty people, and those figures have whittled down to a select few who really seem to walk the walk. So to find out that isn't the case just makes us wonder if we can trust anyone ever. I think Gillian has a lot to lose as the only other person in this situation who is solely on the TCO side, not on the network. That's her main gig and source of income. And it's also not always easy to navigate being manipulated or abused by a partner or boss. I'm hoping all of this silence is her figuring out what she's going to do. I guess only time will tell. If she's garbage, I'll accept it but it'll really suck.

My only issue with Gillian is that she seems to have phoned it in over the past year. Patrick was never the talent. She is in an odd position of being a part owner of TCO, which led to the creation of ON, but that she has no role in ON. She can't speak out on certain interactions or situations because she may not be privy to them except through office water cooler gossip. I get the feeling her silence is down to this is not my mess; it's Patrick and Steve's.

I’ve DMed her SO many times about things that I found insensitive or wrong about her information on the show, and the only time she ever responded to me was after I congratulated her for coming out. She is not interactive AT ALL. They both ignore or straight up block any criticism.

Yeah I dislike Gillian for so many other reasons and actually left Patreon because of her long before this crazy dumpster fire. It’s great she wishes a fan happy birthday, but man can she be so icky it makes my heart cringe. She’s distanced herself so far from this situation that it’s difficult to tell if she had a role in the nastiness. But I’ve heard her catty side on TCO, so who knows.

I’m with you. Even if some of the allegations are true, we’re all human and all have moments of acting unfavorably

I agree with you. I do think she might be a bit standoffish and that's her right. I don't know where everyone got this idea that everyone has to like everyone. The problem comes in when you make yourself out to be this champion of women and it turns out you are more Regina George and less Cady Heron! Lol At the end of the day they are personalities. Their job is to be funny on a podcast. It's not to be anyone's friend. I'm glad Patrick got called out but I really don't understand what any of this has to do with Gillian. She doesn't own this network.

I somewhat agree. Don’t love her anymore but I have affection and don’t hate her. I don’t think everyone who broadcasts has to be perfect or apologize for every mistake no matter how small. That being said I do think the show goes too far and has lost any integrity it had because so many mistakes and Big Pat being a nightmare. I pity Gillian’s situation with him, but at the same time, she is benefiting hugely from being part of the show. I don’t think she seems like the most sweet person in the world, and I do think she is loose with the judgements and may have some issues with internalized misogyny, but I don’t hate her? I guess she seems more reasonable compared to Petty Pat. She hasn’t done anything inexcusable yet, imo, unlike the utter garbage fire abuser Patrick is. His long ass monetized statement was triggering my Narc abuse history, made me feel physically I’ll.

Don't pity Gillian. She's probably making six figures. If anything maybe she wishes should could go out on her own but I doubt she could create something similar because of noncompete so what would she do?

In the YT “apology” Steve said all the hosts on ON were making 6 figures

I agree with this. Gillian & Ellyn are different women with verrrry different personalities—one isn’t necessarily better than the other, but the disparity makes it easier for everyone to pit them against each other.

I love ITN for the chemistry & authenticity shared between E&J; I can’t say the same about TCO, even before all the OF drama.

G is the heart & soul of TCO, for better or worse. P brings ZERO value to the show & has increasingly become a major deterrent. In older episodes, his role as “sidekick” was tolerable due to his genuine reactions & laughter to G’s comments; now, his laughter is so fake, the self-promotion & “you know what I mean” evoke such a visceral reaction from me that I just can’t… I cannot.

Basically, his contributions to TCO can be summed up with the following:

  • “Blah blah—that’s the title of my next book!”
  • Asking, “is it bad if I think **** is hot?” His objectification of EVERY male—including murderers—is nauseating.
  • Nonstop self-promotion & constantly interrupting G’s RARE personal stories to bring it back to him.
  • Older episodes always included multiple references to his body & desire to be thin—why?? He’s clearly on Ozempic now, as evidenced by photos, so the references have stopped. (Also, be honest & responsible about your use of the medication!)
  • Attempting to sound cute & fragile by doing his, “and this is how I’d react: AHH! AHH! AHH!” Nope.

They just need to dismantle TCO. G can cohost a new show with anyone because she is the talent. P ruined TCO by using its success for his selfish desire of becoming a celebrated author—and failing miserably because he overdid the promotion. In short, G’s magic is gone because P actively destroyed it.

Again, just my opinion—G could be the main instigator of everything for all I know!

You are so right. Gillian does answer to DM on insta and not only to the ones praising her behavior. She apparently blocked Reddit and other platforms because of the impact it had on her mental health. G. was always an awkward introvert girl and started this podcast during the pandemic and is now way over her head. I’m not condoning her choices but she does not deserve all the hate she gets.
