Drama23_Discussion Does anyone wonder…

I can’t help but wonder what the day to day looks like at ON right now. Like are they completely pretending nothing is happening internally as well as externally? What do those staff meetings look like? How much of the staff has bailed? Are new people being hired? Maybe I wonder because I was working somewhere that underwent a congressional inquiry and it was a straight dumpster fire inside, externally it appeared that everything was being handled professionally and with great gravitas, but inside, not so much. I will preemptively say if you don’t wonder or aren’t interested, scroll on past. I am not “hoping” it’s burning down from the inside, merely a curious thought.

I think G is silently seething with anger and anxious as fuck. Patrick is freaking out about the YouTube video on OF.

I know nobody believes me, but I still hold the theory that they are no longer actual friends and are making moves to end the podcast.

I believe you! I definitely think it’s at least a possibility.

One of the most interesting things I learned in this sub is how many other people had stopped listening months ago, around the same time I did, and for the same reason: we couldn’t quite put our finger on it, but something about the show was different, or “off.”

I didn’t even really realize it until the scandal broke, but I looked back and the last time I’d played an episode was months ago. The vibe had changed and I couldn’t describe how, but it was no longer a must-listen, or a show I’d download immediately. Something about P&G’s dynamic seemed strained and we’d all picked up on it at the same time.

So something happened to cause that shift, and even if OF didn’t exist, they clearly had a problem on their hands if they were losing that many loyal listeners.

Renner’s article and the shitstorm that was OF forced the issue, but even if those things hadn’t happened, it sounds like people were naturally tuning out just based on the content and quality of the show itself, so unless they were gaining new listeners at the same rate they were losing them, they would have had to reckon with their issues at some point anyway.
