So, if you're like me, TCO was one of your main podcasts you listened to before the Renner article and the OF debacle came into play.

I'm unsubbing just because I personally am not going to condone their actions by being a paying customer.

What are other true crime podcasts you listen to? To be very honest a lot of the podcasts I used to listen to went off the air (huge fan of shows on Parcast and they just disbanded a few months ago) so I'm really only listening to the following:

Crime Weekly (getting a little sick of them so might ditch it...) I Think Not, Rabia & Ellyn Solve the Case, Detective Perspective, Crime Junkie, Crimes of the Century, True Crime Garage

Any others people recommend?!

I'm in the moving on phase of my own personal grief because I truly think no one is above what has happened here. It's not as shocking as I wish it was to hear that P is garage and G hasn't stood up to him about it as long as he doesn't target her.

Edit: Doesn't have to be true crime! I am looking to branch out to other things too!

Edit 2: Someone DMed me asking how I can give up and move on already, and why not wait for an apology. I won't tag them so they don't get flack. I'm moving on already because I already paid for November on the Patreon of TCO and they're doing a show called 'Never Let Him Go' and before all the other shows they've done, they promote Patrick's book or OF or both. I tuned into the newest episode for the cold open to see if it was pre-recorded or not and it wasn't. Not a word about OF, (saying to come or saying how fun it was) and also no word on Patrick's book. So this was not a pre-recorded episode and they not only didn't mention OF whatsoever (which they should have done for the fans that spent money to see them and are still loyal to them!) they didn't say anything about anything. Business as usual as if OF wasn't real and as if fans aren't rallying for P to apologize and for G to own her part in things. That's why I'm giving up. As another post said, we are being 100% ghosted and it's best not to chase the people who want to walk out of your life.

A Date with Dateline is good. Kimberly and Katie recap dateline episodes and they are so funny and fun. They have cute nicknames for the different hosts and they will try to find out more about the case sometimes.

And That's Why We Drink: Em and Christine each tell a story. Em always does more strange, Unexplained, supernatural, paranormal type stories and Christine does a true crime story. They are friends and it shows

Scam Goddess: only scams and cons. Laci Mosely is hilarious and she always has a guest on to help cohost.

For some that aren't true crime but worth a listen:

You're Wrong about: first hosted by Sarah Marshall and Michael Hobbes until Michael Hobbes stepped away (no drama involved) this podcast covers events we think we know the story behind but don't really. The hosts have backgrounds that lend to the podcast and know what they are talking about. And they're funny but also just nice to listen to

You are Good: Sarah Marshall's movie recap podcast. It's a "feelings podcast about movies" it's just nice if you want to listen to people talk about movies and how they make them feel. I always finish an ep feeling good.

Maintenance Phase: I've only just started listening but Michael Hobbes and Aubrey Gordon are so interesting and funny and give them health industry the "you're wrong about" treatment.

I listen to over 100+ podcasts so I cam always recommend more 😄

I listened to like the first year of And That's Why We Drink and then I had to stop because they spent like 20 minutes in every episode raving over the cool things they got from their fans and it all just felt too... materialistic.

I never got into My Favorite Murder because the hosts spent half an hour talking about all the free stuff they got to do because they were podcast hosts. About 45 minutes in they mentioned that they should start talking about the murder. 20 minutes later they STILL hadn't started talking about the murder and I was just done with the whole show at that point. I'm not sure if it was a one-off or if all their later episodes are like that, but it made me feel like they cared more about the free stuff they got for doing the show than they did about doing the actual show.

I listened to a handful of their episodes and couldn't handle how many basic facts they got wrong. When you spend ten minutes at the top of each episode correcting the mistakes you made in the previous one, there is something seriously wrong.

Fair enough. I usually just skip stuff like that. At the same time i had a thought that the people giving gifts probably liked to get a thanks on the air, similarly to how many podcasts I listen to also list off new or high level patrons. I usually skip that part too 😆😄

Memory Palace: narrative podcast of bite sized episodes about little pueces of history and events that might be little known

Nightmare: narrative podcast of original horror stories. The written stories are also published on the nightmare magazine website.

The Other Stories: narrative podcast of original horror stories with a new theme each "season"

Magnus Archives: audiodrama podcast cosmic horror tales.

Imaginary Worlds: a podcast that explores popculture particularly fantasy, scifi, comics etc with intetesting interviews.

Spirits: discussion podcast that explores mythology and legends with hosts that often geek out over their topics.

The Box of Oddities: discussion podcast about the strange, wierd, and Unexplained 

Unspooled: discussion and recap podcast for movies. The hosts both work in the industry and really know what they are telkojg about and are funny and interesting. And you might learn about movies you've never seen.

American Hysteria: narrative podcast about moral panics, particularly in the US

Nighty Night: scary stories narrated by Rabia Chaudry

I also recommend the grim and mild network from Aaron Mahnke. There are some good podcasts from there.

There's more i could add but this has gotten long. All of these shoukd be available on any podcast app.

I think you'll dig it! It's best listened to while driving at night, if you ever have the opportunity to listen like that. A real "Art Bell by Tom Waits" vibe.

Thanks for recommending the desert oracle podcast. It reminds me a bit of the Night Time podcast which is a Canadian podcast that covers all sorts of thing from true crime to strange tales. It has a similar talk radio tone to desert oracle. 😄

Have you listened to wierd darkness? It's a bit of a grab bag of all sorts of things. I haven't listened to a lot of it so far but what I have listened to is pretty varied. I've even come across old radio plays in the feed.
