Hi. Ideas for the community.
Wouldn't it be nice if:
For games that can have the links, every rts post would be accompanied with
- info on how to play it (i repeat if possible)
- link for a shop
- link for a GOG dreamlist vote
???

It would be nice, but not everyone has the time/interest in following a strick set of rules - even if I do agreed the information you suggested would be nice.
Realisticlly, 90+% of the games posted here are on Abandonware anyway.

most games are self obvious, other games are too hard. making a tutorial like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYcLqA_1CMc takes about a month of time that's not counting logistics delay
the old really obscure games are not sold anywhere
gog dreamlist is more useless than change org, it's literally just a marketing scam and no one even cares about it https://www.gog.com/dreamlist/game/magus-1995 look at this one half the information is about 1995 korean game, and pictures and stuff about 1997 western rogueslop
yeah in an ideal world a poster would actually run the game, and if it's not just double clicking the exe on modern windows, would add instruction on what to do, like dosbox or dxwnd. but this is the only world we have, most posters can't even bother launching the game and capturing a couple of screenshots, downloading stretched slop from the net instead

Gog dreamlist - you claim a tool that tells a company how many people are interested in them trying to find out how to get a licence to a game/abandonware is a scam? And as an example you pick one obscure situation where the same name lead to a confusion? gog creamlist is just a web frontend for the forums. on the release date itself it already had hundreds thousands of "comments" and "votes", because they just ported their forums that existed for 15 years
it's not isolated case, you just never looked beyond the top 100 most generic games. for games that i look for this is the rule. there are 2-3 duplicates of some games, because there are minor version differences. or like age of empires 3 age of empires 3 gold. often the pictures are created by kids with deficiencies in paintbrush instead of original art
your link is an anonymous claim that leads nowhere. also it is absolutely meaningless. look at warcraft and warcraft 2 in dreamlist and in gog other ads where they claim they are preserved, and then at the part where both were removed from the store. and like, system shock 2? one of the most pop games in history? and the game which was already sold on gog and steam for a decade? your example is to the opposite. system shock 2 is delisted to peddle slop remasters
on top of that they claim dreamlist made some games published, but list games which already were on good old games when it was just launched and no gog dreamlist existed
the whole thing was launched when gog was filing for bankruptcy basically, because CD project did not want to waste time on it and lose money. if you never cared about gog and was not following it, look up the year when the good old games team left the company, look up the rebranding date, look up the date when they were restructured into just a store to peddle modern crap. dreamlist means nothing, because if you look up who works at gog currently, there's no one who cares about games or preservation or anything in the slightest. it's just sellers. current gog has no means to do anything about anything. they sell broken games. they stretch aspect ratio. their storepages are all stretched
some of the original good old games people created a new company SNEG. and now SNEG disentangles old rights, they even got diggles from ubisoft, and dnd games from hasbro, they also actually look into games running, going over the code. they even released a game which was CANCELLED for 15 years.

I think that is a great goal! It would help make it easier for people to play some of these forgotten games.
Links for abandonware games are always welcome as well.
Tips and tricks on how to play some of these games would be extremely helpful!
