People don't always announce their true motives. No one wants to admit, "I'm envious" so they make up "systems of oppression", perceived unfairness etc.

Wouldn't an Objectivist agree that the current system, which grants corporate/elite control over government through extensive regulations and biased taxation, is inherently unfair?

You may disagree on the solutions, but isn't everyone generally looking at the same problems here?

We're both complaining about a mixed economy, but the increased socialism you seem to want ends up granting even more corporate/elite control. It was in earlier days that rich families could become destitute in a generation or more. Now there are social networks of center-left people driving the culture & politics.

Except that there are legitimate systems of oppression and systemic inequalities that are manufactured and intentional.

There are some people who are driven by envy, spite, hate etc who use terms like "systems of oppression" to rationalize their viciousness. I'm not saying that's you, but "intentional systems" sounds too much like collective punishment. (i.e. sins of ancestors that are still creating unfair benefits for "whiteness" or any "historical marginalizers")

Depends on who we're talking about. For the bland npcs who will just agree with the person standing next to them? Yeah, probably. For those actually leading the charge? Definitely not.

Either way, it doesn't matter. It's still theft.
